Performancing Partners Sends First Payments

Posted By Darren Rowse 2nd of November 2006 Advertising 15

Masthead-EarnI just received my first ever Performancing Partners (aff) payment (read my first impression review of the ad network here).

It wasn’t a massive amount (in the mid ‘three figure’ range) but not bad for a first month. I’m not sure exactly how much of it was from advertisers and how much was from the affiliate program (they say there will be better reporting next month) but it was a nice little bonus to get for the month.

So far ProBlogger has had two advertisers sign up (you can see them midway down my sidebar) and I’ve left the pricing on ‘auto’.

I will be interested to see how PP goes over the coming months. From what I can see in the advertisers section – there are hundreds and hundreds of publishers signed up (no shortage there) so there is a great base for advertisers to buy into. However the numbers of advertisers is yet to match it (of course it is very early days).

What does interest me is that Nick from Performancing is asking publishers to comment on what to do with unsold inventory. Some of the suggestions in the comments there are quite interesting and could open up all kinds of possibilities.

  1. Daren, I’d really appreciate if you could give us a hint/tip on how you actually get those ad spaces sold :( I had mine (Both performancing and AdBright) running for some time and never sold one although I am setting prices low.
    Thanks

  2. I am with Antoine on this one. I have been running PP on my blog for about two weeks now with no nibbles from advertisers. The impression I get from PP is that there are thousands of blogs available for ads, but only a very small, select number of advertisers, and these advertisers seem to be going for the very ‘high-exposure’ blogs. This results in 95% of the inventory, consisting of low-traffic blogs, is getting left out to dry. I am thinking about taking the PP code off of my site, and pursuing other monetization methods.

  3. […] Interesting to note that Darren from problogger got his first payment from performancing partners today. And I quote: It wasn’t a massive amount (in the mid ‘three figure’ range) but not bad for a first month. […]

  4. Awesome.. It will take some time to popularize among advertisers.

  5. still waiting for my first order.
come on people, i’m worth it.
    hehehe

  6. That’s pretty much how we feel Thilak, PP is a *community* project, and it will take the will and desire of the community (as well as a little patience) to make it truly successful.

Unfortunately we cant garantee any blog wil get ads, ever. That’s just not how it works, but for those that have the right kind of audience, the right kind of placement, and can help themselves by letting their readers know that they can advertise, it will all come together.

  7. Congrats Darren. I guess its all a question of stats and daily visitors! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Does that mean we are allowed to tell visitors that they can advertise on our blogs? I know that adsense does not allow any mention of self promotion. Is it the same case with perfromancing partners ?

  9. how did you get 2 ads already? :(

I’m mad! plus you are charging like $2000 per ad and below the fold…

    ha ha! congrats!

  10. Congrats there Darren! You have a great informative, robust site. I’m sure your revenue will climb steadily each month. Cheers!

  11. […] Darren over at Problogger, got his first payment from Performancing Partners, a new ad network that has been getting a fair bit of buzz. […]

  12. Kashmiri Nomad, i wouldn’t presume to tell you what you can and cannot do with your own blog, nor dictate how you talk about us, or the fact that you use us for advertising.

It’s your blog. Do what makes sense…

  13. Hello Darren:

You are showing one ad and one house ad. Have you selected one or two ads?

The question is to know if the house ad is an addendum to your ad, or not.

    Thank you

  14. actually Enrique – the house add is actually a paying one.

  15. […] The third advertising service I’ve used is Performancing Partners, which I’ve only recently implemented. There’s not a lot of information out there about them, so research is fairly thin. I can tell you that they’ve got tons of publishers (it’s ultra-easy to setup) but very few advertisers. Darren Rowse at ProBlogger has done a quick review, Performancing Partners Sends First Payments. […]
