Need a New Blog Logo? Here’s a Special Offer for You

Posted By Darren Rowse 4th of November 2007 Blog Design 0 Comments

A couple of weeks ago I received a package in the mail from a company by the name of Logo Design Guru. It contained two gifts – one for me and one for you.

The gift for me – my gift was a book by the name of Get a Price on the Design Matters: Logos 01: An Essential Primer for Today’s Competitive Market. I wasn’t able to really dig into the book for a few days – but spent some time in it today and it’s really great. I’m no logo designer (and never will be) but many of the concepts in this book have some nice cross over into other spheres and I’m learning a lot not only about logos but branding in general.

Logo-5The gift for you – Logo Design Guru are offering ProBlogger readers a 10% discount on custom logo designs. All yo uhave to do is use the following code when placing your order.

Code = Ldgbg1

This is not an affiliate program, a paid review or an advertisement – I’m not getting anything out of this (the book was a no strings attached gift – and a good one) – it’s just a special offer that this company are offering and as I know many of you are looking into redesigns of your blogs at the moment I thought it might be something that some of you find useful.

You can check out some examples of the type of work that Logo Design Guru does in their Gallery and see the type of logo design packages that they offer here (ranging from $99 up).

It’s not something that everyone will want to use – but if you’re in the need of a new logo you might want to check out this service.

  1. Hm…looks interesting. I just started my own company and made a logo for it. I read a lot about logo design and I think these kind of books really help you with it.

  2. Nice one. I’ve been aching for a custom logo for my blog. I just hope I have enough money to spare for one.

  3. Nice idea, but I am happy with the logo I paid $10 for! :D

  4. A logo would be nice. I have been thinking of having one made because I can’t have the business cards done if I don’t have a logo. Thanks for the offer Darren.

  5. If I had the money, I’d surely get one from them. But I’ve already made one by myself, and I’ll stick with it for a while. Thanks for sharing us the discount by the way!

If you’re looking for a new logo design, I’d recommend Design Outpost. If you have a good idea what you’re looking for, and are comfortable articulating those ideas, then you can have a number of different designers working/bidding on your logo.

If you browse through the threads of previous and current logos, you can get a good indication of the quality that different designers produce.

Of course, if you scratch your head, waffle, and mumble “I don’t know… I’m not sure…”, then you pretty much end up with crap, but such is the way in so many aspects of business.

  7. Exactly something I was about to comment here Darren D.

Unfortunately the 10% discount which we get using Darren’s code might not be enough for the bloggers who aren’t willing to spend too much due to there budget problems..

The best way to is to start a contest where many people send you there logo designs and you get the chance to select the best logo.

One should remember the quality will depend on the kind of price you offer. But sometimes good designers who are new and looking to generate fame and name will do good designs for cheap prices but that is very rare.

Good forums for such service are digital point forum and the design outpost forum as mentioned in the comment above..

  8. Oooh, I’m tempted! My blog’s header is a rather plain text only affair, and some of their designs do look rather nice, although I don’t really know if I can justify the $199 for it.

Checking their web site, their “satisfaction guaranteed” seems to have a number of strings, and etting your money back isn’t one of them. On the other hand, their samples do look to be extremely high quality.

  9. In response to Darren D’s comment above, be careful before opting down the logo design contest route.

Many professionals think of them as being unethical, considering them as spec work, which you wouldn’t expect from your dentist or plumber, for instance.

  10. Thanks for sharing. I checked out their gallery and they have done a lot of great logos- they don’t look cheap. I would love to get a personalized logo for my blog.

  11. i’m looking for logo designer to design my new blog logo.

i’d read your old post about GRAPHIC DESIGN USA, now im confusing what type of logo should i use.
