Theme Week: Your Guide to All Things Facebook

Sam Surname

Facebook – whether you love it or hate it, there’s no denying that huge numbers of your readers are on it. And although it can be confusing, frustrating, and increasingly a “pay for results” platform; with a bit of knowledge up your sleeve, you can really make it work for you and your blog.

This week we are delving into all things Facebook – from organic to paid reach, we will cover what you need to know to get the edge and be successful on the world’s biggest social media hub. We will be looking at case studies of successful Pages, breakdowns of what kinds of interaction garners the most engagement, the lowdown on Facebook advertising (Advanced Facebook Marketing guru Jon Loomer stops by with a packed-to-the-brim webinar), and what Darren and the team have been doing over on the Digital Photography School Facebook page that have seen real results in ad campaigns.

It promises to be a doozy, and you will leave with plenty of advice to make the most of Facebook. Check back each day for the next installment. We will add them here as they go live.

  1. It’s always a good thing to auto share content to Facebook from your WordPress blog or website using a third-party application so that readers will do the footwork of advertising your pages for you without having to resort to paid online advertising on Facebook. DNN is not necessarily concerned with making money from Facebook friends and fans but yet enjoys having the content read. Most importantly, Facebook is a great place to build solid sustainable positive relationships with your readers and keep them inspired to come back for more.

  2. Hi Stacey,
Well, I have a doubt about this series. Since Facebook is changing its algorithm periodically now, how can we expect to get fans? and I am not talking about the new fans but about the fans that have already liked the page. With this algorithm many pages have got from 1000 like to a few hundreds.

  3. Since edgerank is being tweaked massively, what will be your strategy to gain new fans/followers? It’s very difficult to appear on the newsfeed without paid ads.

  4. Hi Stacey,
Great guide about facebook dude, its really helpful but i have also doubt about it that anurag already mention in his comment that facebook is changing its algorithm periodically now, then how can we expect to get fans?

  10. Looking forward to the week ahead.

Out of all the social media sites I actively use, Facebook is proving to be the most difficult to create engagement.
