  1. For me the most important element for a post to go viral is our network. Only when we have friends with strong authority in social sites, the chance for the post to go viral will definitely higher.

Sometimes we may have really good content but without this element, we may fail to push our articlea to go viral.

  2. Metcalfe’s law (note the e which is missing from the title) isn’t applicable here.

It can be used to approximate the value of a social network, but not the content that is spread on it.

Also, the chart at the bottom of that section is incorrect – it says the cost is a constant, but plots a linear curve instead, then says that value is exponential and plots a quadratic curve instead.

The correct chart would have cost as a constant horizontal line and value as a linear curve (straight line) – the same as for any other marketing.

  3. Wow, that is one cool infographic! The information seems pretty spot-on too. Will definitely do more infographics for my site…

  4. Very nice Info-graph.

I was starting to wonder when it was going to come to a conclusion, as it go on for quite a while.

As to the merits of Info- Graphs, I think if the were used sparingly, and done in the right way, they could be quite effective. It would probably depend on the way the graphics are set up, so as not to lose the readers attention.

  5. Great illustration to show the viral cycle. I guess anything that goes viral is what would provoke the reader’s interest. There’s no guarantee for a post to go viral. A substandard material can be even seen going viral. Its all about interests and knowing what interests the public.

  6. I do love a good info graphic, especially when they’re helpful. Thanks for the great advice hopefully I will get a viral post soon.

  7. I would like to learn how to create info graphics or find a great company to do it for me. Sometimes words just can’t describe as well as what a info graphic can.

  8. content that touches the audience in one way or the other will make them to revisit the site and share the content with their friends. The points mentioned here are useful to make the content go viral.

  9. I’m really loving the infographics as a medium to illustrate an idea without getting bogged down in words! It’s very instructional without being so boring that the words blur into each other. I’d love to learn more on how to create these.
