Google Analytics Real Time Stats Preview

Posted By Darren Rowse 26th of October 2011 Pro Blogging News 0 Comments

Late last week I received an invitation to try out Google Analytics’ new Real Time Stats feature, which was announced a couple of weeks ago. I’m not sure when it will be available to everyone, so thought I’d give a quick preview of it.

While it is very simple I can see this being very useful also—particularly when monitoring traffic events to which you might want to be able to react quickly.

  1. Another great feature from Google Analytics !

  2. Looks really good can’t wait to try it out.

  3. This so appeals to my inner geek. I’ll be signing up!

  4. thanks to Google for give us this tool Google Analytics

  5. Looks pretty sweet! I usually just use statpress to check out my realtime stats but the google one will probably be far better imo!

  6. I’ll definitely want to try that – even though I only get a few hundred visitors a day it’s still a really neat little feature to have! Thanks for the video!

  7. Where is my invite? :)

  8. Darren – Thanks for the video. Its an awesome feature. Can’t wait for my own stats to look like yours!

  9. Must…have.
I check my stats several times a day…having this feature would help feed my obsession, lol. Thank you so much for showing this to us!

  10. google analytics is a great tool.

  11. We’ve had Real Time for a couple of weeks after getting an invite from Google – it is incredible. Being able to respond quickly to a surge in traffic, and tailor the response to the source of the traffic in real time, is pretty amazing.

The new dashboard system is also pretty amazing.

  12. GA RealTime is awesome, i have been using this from past few weeks, and find it really useful to analyze my social media marketing outcome and also get to know far more details on how a particular post of mine is performing immediately after publishing the same.

  13. Awesome!

I’ve been putting off using the new interface because I found the design a little clunky that made it harder to get around in my analytics. But I’ve just reactivated it and noticed they’ve changed a few things and while it’s still not great usability-wise it’s not bad.

Can’t wait till they roll out real time stats to everyone!

  14. Seems like a great tool that will provide plenty of usefulness to Bloggers. Having real time stats makes a huge difference. Most stat counters, Analytic tools seem to have a variety of time frames upon which they return data.

The great shock I had around the time they announced this tool, was regarding the price tag for Google Analytics Premium at a whopping $ 150’000 USD per year. For very large sites, and online/ offline businesses, I am sure they would be able to shell out that sort of coin. Though, for most Blogs(Sites) it would be a little out of their budget range.

  15. Thanks for sharing with us Darren. Not much of an Analytics guys but I see where it could be helpful.

  18. Great new feature from Google Analytics, thanks for sharing this with us Darren

  19. Really excited about this too, thanks! Do you know whether you will have to pay for these features in the future or if they will be rolling it out for free to all users?

Also wanted to say thanks because I didn’t realise you could change GA so you could see todays stats!

  20. You will admire any analytics if your site is doing good. Its a kind of complicated

  21. Very cool tool – hope they’ll release it to everyone soon! Thanks for the walk-through Darren.

  22. I also tested the new RT reports in Google Analytics. Very useful feature for bloggers who publish stuff and want to see how it perform. Here are some screenshots from my test: http://www.marketingsutra.com/blog/real-time-google-analytics/
