ProBlogger’s Guide to Your First Week of Blogging [50% Off This Week]

probloggers first week of blogging.jpg In 2002 I published my first ever blog post. I don’t remember too much about what I wrote in it, but I still vividly remember the feelings and questions I had as I hit Publish.

  • Who’s going to read this?
  • How will they find it?
  • What will their reaction be?
  • What do I do now?

In the hours that followed hitting Publish, I quickly realized that writing my first post was only a small part of what I really needed to do if I wanted my blog to be successful—but knowing that left me feeling quite confused.

Over the coming weeks and months I gradually worked out some of what to do, stumbling upon ways of growing my audience, developing content ideas, and thinking more strategically about growing my blog.

Since that time I’ve launched around 30 blogs, and each time I’ve faced that “What do I do now?” question with a little more confidence as I’ve learned more and more strategies for starting a blog.

ProBlogger’s Guide to Your First Week of Blogging

Today I’m pleased to announce a brand new resource for those starting a blog. A resource that’s designed to guide you through a variety of activities to kick-start your new blog. It’s an ebook called ProBlogger’s Guide to Your First Week of Blogging.

You can read more about the ebook here and learn about our launch week special and bonus. But, in short, it’s written for bloggers who are either starting their first-ever blog, or bloggers wanting to start their second, third, or even fourth blogs with a solid foundation.

Broken down into seven chapters (one for each day—but you can do it over a few weeks if you want to space it out more), it provides daily activities that will help you to:

  • Learn foundational brainstorming techniques.
  • Create a content plan—and content, of course!
  • Build a social media presence.
  • Create practical quality assurance tools.
  • Set up a publishing process.
  • Master the components of a blog post.
  • Develop your blog’s ongoing strategy.

Not Just Theory but a Practical Guide with Simple Steps to Take

The book has 7 chapters/days but is further broken down into 32 achievable activities to DO to get your blog started on the right foot. This eBook is high on practical suggestions – it’s all really about taking action which is the number 1 thing you’ll need to do to get your blog moving forward.

Each day has its own focus, but by the end, you’ll have not only written some great posts (and come up with ideas for many more), you’ll have also begun to promote your blog and think about its long term strategy.

Launch Week Special (and the Chance to Win $850 Worth of WordPress Themes)

To celebrate the launch of this brand new ebook, we’re releasing it this week at the special discount price of just $9.99 USD. It’ll normally sell for $19.99 USD, but I wanted to make sure it was as accessible as possible at launch. I don’t intend to repeat this price.

I’ve also approached the team at Studio Press, who make some amazing WordPress blog themes (like the one I use here at ProBlogger), and they’ve agreed to give us two of their Pro Plus Packages to give away to two people who buy this ebook.

That package gives you access to every single WordPress theme that StudioPress has developed (all 37 of them), free of charge. The package of themes sells for $249 but by themselves the themes are worth over $850. To be in the running to win one of these packages, you simply need to pick up this ebook before 17 May, when we’ll draw a winner.

So if you’re thinking of starting your first blog, or you’re planning to start another one, grab your copy of ProBlogger’s Guide to Your First Week of Blogging today, here or check out more information on what’s included here.

  1. Thanks for the special price. Just invested in your other ebook 31 days to build a better blog so I think I’ll wait until I’ve finnished that before I buy this :)

  2. Darren,

It’s a great thing that you are doing by offering newbie bloggers a chance to understand what is involved from day 1.

This will cut back on confusion and frustration!

    • I agree with you Krizia, when the first I did my blog, I don’t know what to do and what to write about. At least they have a guidelines from the expert like Darren.

  3. I just bought your new guide Darren. While I am not a new blogger, I bought it to help my coaching clients when they are setting up blogs for their businesses.

    • thanks Fred – interesting that you’ve said this. I just had someone buy 10 copies for the same reason – to give away to clients starting out. I hope you find it helpful!

  4. Agree. If you love the 31DBB then I’m pretty sure this is going to be an interesting one also..

  5. I have been trying my hand at blogging for almost a year now and am still always open to your great resources! I just loaded it onto my Kindle and can’t wait to dig in as soon as the kiddos get to nap time! :) Thanks for the great price too! I know it will be just as valuable as the other 2 books I’ve read of yours! I’m off to share the word to my tweeps and FB friends! :)

  6. hi Darren,

I find i have committed a lot of mistakes in my last blog, so i am considering to start a new one, am not yet sure what to do with the last one.
but i am sure to follow this book for my seocnd “FIRST BLOG”.. :)

  7. This looks awesome. I’ll be buying it when I get home tonight for sure.

I’m bummed I missed out on the special pricing for 31DBB, but, from what I can gather, extra $10 or not, it’s worth it. I’m a big fan of Darren’s work.

  8. thanks all – the inspiration for this book was really 31DBBB which helped so many people but was more aimed for those who’ve been blogging at least a few months – this fills the hole and is for that group of bloggers.

Interestingly though – we’ve had a few more experienced bloggers buy it who are now using it on their 2nd and 3rd blogs and finding it useful to give them a bit of a blueprint for starting out.

  9. Just bought it. I have found problogger.net to be a great resource over the years. I like to support your new products when I can. I’m sure I’ll find a few tricks that will more than cover the price.

  10. I’m sure in going to be another big bang Darren, Congrats!

  11. Nice work Darren!, I’ve re-tweeted the post, nice bonus with the themes…

I think i am gonna make another investment in your product Darren, even though i am blogging for some time now.I really liked the 31DBBB so really would like to see what you have provided in this.
    Keep up the good work!

  14. Sounds like a great product for anyone considering starting a blog today. It would be nice to have a starter manual to help someone in the beginning phase of their blog.

  15. Amazing timing!

My mom and I have recently started a crafting business together and we decided last week to get the site going on the 16th. Just a few days later, you come and drop this goodie right in our laps!

I’ve been blogging for the past two years but our business blog is going to be my first problogging attempt. I’ve been reading Problogger to help with my personal blog and have been going through it with a fine-toothed comb again in preparation for our craft blog. You’ve done a lot of the hard work for me by making a one-stop resource for how to get started on the right foot. Thank you!

But enough blabbing, I’m eager to go read the copy I just bought. Wish us luck. I’ll let you know how the first week goes. :)

  16. I also think that this will be very good investment for me. In my opinion people who want to make and start properly a blog is good to read it. Congratulations.

  17. Hello,
I just wanted to say that after watching you video I must say It was real. Real in the sense that you weren’t trying to hide some big secrete of how to make money online and here’s my book for such and such price. Just a down to earth guy with some good sense able things to share.
    Thanks,
    Greg

  18. I just downloaded it last night – it’s great! It’s not my first week of blogging, but I’m going to go thru it and so some of the stuff I should’ve done when I started!

  19. Being new to blogging can be overwhelming at the start. This is a great way to develop a plan a make things easier to understand.

  20. This is great! I am really enjoying my copy. I love the workbook format with suggested activities. If 31DBBB is anything like this, I’ll have to purchase that, too!

  21. I’m new to blogging, and your tips are absolutely helpful !

  22. Great for newbie bloggers. But i’m not eligible to purchase it as i’ve already passed my 31 days of blogging.. But I still recommend this awesome book and will purchase it too.

  23. Just purchase the eBook. Great resources for all bloggers! Recommend to everyone!
