Wow - that's a fair old price each month! I'd be very interested to hear back from people who feel this is a good ROI over and above what the rest of us learn from free resources and, let's be honest, common sense!

I might one day join an Affiliate forum to increase my earnings. I should now but i dont have a credit card.

The main problem i have is when your trying to make money is who to trust. I dont want to get scammed by some guy who just sits in his basement pretending to tell me what he thinks is right. Anyways thats just my view.

If you have a niche or business website and you are just trying to get ranked for your chosen keywords, I cannot recommend ezinearticles highly enough. It is not as "cool" as trying to promote your sites on twitter, or other social websites, but the fact is that it works. Google places a lot of trust in ezine and any links you get from them will work wonders for your site.

If you are Darren or Brian of course you don't need to worry about using sites like ezine articles as your websites already have authority. If you are just starting out trying to get links, provided the keywords aren't too competitive, it is fairly easy to quickly get a decent ranking.

"That was good advice in 2002. Be careful who you listen to, folks."

Can you provide any evidence to support this? Ezinearticles are getting fairly strict with what articles they approve and it is not necessarily easy to get your writing published.

Sounds a great project. I know how important it is to mastermind with others and this sounds like a great opportunity to do so.

I look forward to learning and sharing, see you inside.

Looks good, although there is one major concern.

I believe Darren and Brian and also subscribe to PB and would love to join TT.

My concern is that I have been done with the "First Tribe" method of making money online for some time now. The main source of income for the "Gurus" in the First Tribe is making money teaching how to make money. I wore out my credit cards on these "communities" and did not recoup much, if anything back.

I was all in until I saw that Johnny B Truant was involved right out of the gate.

I have nothing personally against Johnny, although it would seem that he is Full Force "First Tribe". I may be wrong, although the two products on his home page are "Zero to Business in Just 7 Days" and "How to Launch a Blog in Under an Hour for Stupidly Cheap Even if Your a Total idiot".

Those two titles, I would think would fly in the face of the Third Tribe mentality?

I was hoping that Third Tribe was going to teach us how to make some money online while not resorting to First Tribe catchy titles or underhanded tactics because I have enough ebooks on those subjects to fill the Library of Congress.

If someone could clarify that would be great as I would really love to join.

Thanks

Oh and Lala, to answer your question. The PB forum is quite focused on blogging and the skills around blogging. From what I've seen of TT so far, and it's early days, the focus is more on ethical marketing and making money.

Hope that helps.

Comments like some of the above never cease to amaze me.

I wonder if these same people burst into their local shops and tell them how they should be merchandising their stuff, and that the pricing is all wrong. Oh and by the way, You need to open a free section as well!

Here's the point: Third Tribe is not for everyone. In fact it's only for a small minority of the huge number of readers of the partner's blogs. I can't get over how many times Darren actually said as much in his post.

If it's not for you, that's fine. Move on. Preferably to my guest post on the front page of this blog.

If it's for you, you knew the moment you read about it, and you're there. Say Hi to me.

I don't mean to repeat myself, but I think my question may have been overlooked yesterday:

If I’m only going to join one, which would be better: Third Tribe or The Problogger Community and (besides price) why?

In other words, what value will I get from TT that I won’t get from The Problogger Community or vise versa?

Thanks!

Danny - Quite honestly, I think I'm doing the 3rd tribe a favor. Darren is being nice because that's the way he is...a nice guy. But I don't think being a nice guy is going to help you in this instance.

You keep telling us how you only have $20 to invest. If that's the case, then either make another 27 (which is pretty damn easy these days) or quit bashing the program. Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean it isn't worth the money.

Andy - If you consider a reality check being immature, then I feel sorry for you. There's too much hand holding in the blogosphere, and unless people hear the truth, they're going to have a hard time getting where they need to be.

Hi Darren. Your $27 entry fee is not a sticker-shock to me. It is what it is, and I choose to go or not...

I've done some homework since getting your newsletter. You named bloggers who are part of The Tribe -- other than you four co-founders. So I looked them all up, followed some on Twitter, signed up for email post-updates and a newsletter here and there. (I already get yours, Chris', Brian's.)

And I discovered it's certainly worth my time and money to give this a shot. I'll know soon enough if I'm in way over my head, or if this just doesn't fit my goals.

And BTW, as a mom and grandmom, I commend you with honors for loving your kids! You get points just for that...

I'm off to sign up. :)

@ Andy... Pitching is for baseball... The old school sales letters with yellow backgrounds and big red letters, 50 testimonials and promises to make 1 million in 7 days isn't the type of Internet Marketing The Third Tribe is About...

The Third Tribe follows the Teaching Sells philosophy combined with building a community of like minded individuals who can help each other grow...

Yes this offer was written for everybody to see... but it's not targeted to everyone. It's targeted to ProBlogger, CopyBlogger and Chris Brogan followers...

Take me for example; I follow and trust Darren knows what he's doing. I trust he gives Damn good tips, advice and knowledge... And I believe having the opportunity to have him and other great minds help me with my personal projects is well worth $27 a month... Not to mention I also follow CopyBlogger and Chris Brogan... I've been following all of them for a couple of years now...

Them making a community for their followers and combining efforts is something I'm excited to be part of... I believe they will go above and beyond the already great information they give in their blog post... When I got the email, I immediately signed up because I see the value.

MY WHOLE POINT IS... I don't need to be pitched, because I am already sold on these people. I trust I will get my money's worth... Combined they have somewhere in the range of a couple hundred thousand followers... There are tons of us real followers who didn't and don't need to be "pitched"...

If someone feels they need to be pitched; The Third Tribe isn't for them, yet... That person needs to follow these people and learn who they are; go through their archives and find the value in them first...

I don't think any of us mind helping noobs, but I personally don't want people involved with The Third Tribe "who had to be pitched" on it... Because I want to deal with people of the same level.

BTW... What Nathan Hagen said is the truth... You might consider following his blog; he's another good resource to learn from...

I have to say it's been a very long time since I've seen this much debate on ProBlogger...kinda fun! I've been a huge fan of this site for several years and I credit Darren with a portion of my success.

I too am feeling like there's not enough information to justify the cost. However, I think I feel that way because I seem to be having some great success with my own sites and don't feel the urge to digest more info!

I congratulate Darren for his continued growth and expansion with group projects. I'm working on two new joint ventures and it's a great way to expand your brand with limited resources.

I hope you'll keep us posted Darren on the success of both paid sites. It will be interesting to see how successful these paid sites are over an extended period.

Good luck!!

The reason for joining a group of like-minded thinkers is to strengthen our consciousness of our own intentions. This gives us the inner strength to come us with our own novel ideas that give us breakthroughs to greater success
