Create Your Own ‘Bloggers to Watch’ List and Tell Us About It Here
Last week we published a post by Jade Craven which contained a list of 30 bloggers to watch in 2010 from her perspective.
As tends to happen with these kinds of posts – the list caused a lot of discussion!
Not only did people post comments about it and Tweet up a storm – some bloggers even put together alternative lists of bloggers that they are watching in 2010 (see Sherri’s list here for example).
Sherri’s list got me thinking – perhaps it’s time for a mini ProBlogger ‘Group Writing Project’.
My hope is that this little project will not only highlight some great bloggers, but that it’ll help bloggers generate a little link love from one blog to another within niches and also be useful to your readers (and hopefully some of these posts will generate some buzz for your blogs – these types of lists generally do!).
Your Task is to write a ‘Bloggers to Watch’ post on your blog
Jade’s list last week was a list of bloggers that she’s watching (and as a result did have a focus upon a certain type of blogger that she follows) – but my hope is that this little project will generate some lists of bloggers that focus upon all kinds of niches/industries.
- If you’re a craft blogger – write a list of Craft bloggers to watch in 2010.
- If you’re a sports blogger – write a list of sports bloggers to watch in 2010.
- If you’re a political blogger – write a list of political bloggers to watch in 2010.
Your list doesn’t have to be 30 bloggers – it could be 100, 50, 30, 10…. or if you have a small niche even smaller.
Once you’ve created your list…. Tell Us About It
After publishing your list – come back to this post and leave a comment with a link to your new post (please only submit new posts that have been written this year).
Also take some time to surf through the other comments left on this post to see what lists that other readers have created!
I’m looking forward to reading your lists of bloggers to watch!

Great idea Darren. I find we all have our own, personal A-list, so there is no reason why there can’t be 100 of these lists for each niche, and I almost always discover someone new to follow from them.
Are you going to do one for DPS?

Darren, I’m not really into list making (good idea though!). But there is one blog that has caught my attention because it’s by a 60 year old journalist and therapist who has suffered with mental health issues all his life. As a result he often gets stuck, virtually unable to get anything done.
He’s using his blog to start a 101 Day Countdown to do what his therapists have not been able to do – get unstuck and once and for all resolve problems.
Joe Lerner’s blog will report day by day on how his own strategy for getting out of his mess works. I think it’s a unqiue approach to self-help, especially when nothing has really worked so far.
The blog is http:/www.unstickingjoeslife.com.
It may be helpful for some of your followers.

Ok i might be a little bias here because I have know Jordan for a year or so now, but this guy is turning around the thinking of my own niche exploiting the popularity of Football Manager with http://www.fm-britain.co.uk he might not blog so much there but he is behind the sites potential to make a lot of money exploiting the high standards that have built up at that site through the years
But also with his own blog http://www.notaproblog.com using humor to make himself different in a niche that is saturated. When he gets this spot on its great, being in the early days it will be alot about him experimenting, and he does have some helpful messages within the comedy.

I’m excited to read all of the lists… I’m almost one month in to my blog ( http://www.building-character.net/ ). For blogging inspiration, I’ve primarily followed problogger.com and manvsdebt.com.
I’m actually having a hard time connecting with people with similar interests. Perhaps it’s because I’m not sure what ‘box’ I should be placed in. I’m sort of home improvement, sort of self-improvement, sort of family… I’m actually ‘other’ on blog carnival… I don’t like ‘other’.
This assignment that you’ve handed out should be insightful… I look forward to digging through the results!

I quickly could think of a couple dozen blogs that I’m in tune to. When I started reflecting on what niche the blogs that I’m watching would fall in, the niche was all over the map – UNTIL I realized that [not all but] a large portion of the bloggers I admire are written by women who are Mom’s PLUS _______. They are not Mommy bloggers (don’t hurl anything at your computer screen, but well, blogs about nothing but Mommying make me want to hurl). They are women just like me:
They are mothers who are driven to create and compelled to write about that creation process as a way of reaching out others. They occasionally show pix of and talk about their kids, but they’re using their blogs to help fulfill that creative urge. And if they’re anything like me, they are recording how that creation keeps them sane in a world filled with gotta do’s.
So, without further ado, my list of Mom’s PLUS blogs to watch:
