Get Your Own Copy of the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog WorkBook
Join over 14,000 other bloggers and Give your Blog a Kick Start with this 31 Day Challenge.
Regular readers of ProBlogger are familiar with the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog project that we ran here recently.
The concept was simple: bloggers set aside 31 days to be intentional about improving their blogs.
Each day for 31 days readers were presented with a daily task and teaching to give them concrete ways to take their blogs to the next level – the goal being more readers, higher quality content, deeper reader engagement and higher levels of creativity and energy for the blogger.
Challenges included writing tasks, promotion techniques, methods to deepen reader engagement, creating thinking exercises, ideas for breaking through bloggers block and much more.
Today I’m releasing a Workbook that puts a fully updated version of 31 Day Challenge in your hands
If you already know about it and want a copy now – you can buy it now here.
Why a Workbook?
Over 14,000 bloggers have completed the challenge and the feedback was fantastic.
Bloggers who’ve taken the tasks seriously are reporting increases in traffic, greater reader engagement, fresh inspiration for posts and a greater sense of where their blog is headed.
However two common requests came from participants repeatedly:
- 1. People wanted to do the challenge at their own pace (some found daily tasks too fast, some too slow).
- 2. People wanted all the content in the one place (so they could keep it somewhere handy and dip into it again and again over time).
As a result I decided to put together a downloadable workbook version of the challenge.
The work book is professionally edited – contains new content, unique to the workbook and it is available to purchase today in two ways.
Two Ways to Get the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Workbook
1. Get the Book By Itself For $19.95
Download the 31DBBB workbook as described below for $19.95 USD.
To order it with this option simply hit the following ‘buy now’ button and you’ll be taken to PayPal where you can finalize your payment and download the workbook immediately.
2. Get the Workbook + Online Marketing Inside Out Book For $29.95
SitePoint (who helped me with editing the book) are also releasing a new book (a hard cover book not an e-book) today – it’s called Online Marketing Inside Out.
It is a great resource for those wanting to market products or services on the Web. This book shows you how to reach customers through podcasting, blogs, social networks, video, email, and contextual advertising and much more.
To get this 2-for-1 deal simply head over to SitePoint where you can read more about the book they’re offering and will receive both books when you order. Order Now (via SitePoint).
What You Receive with the Workbook
The 31 Days to Build a Better Blog project is all about giving participants a series of 31 daily tasks to help them make improvements in their blogs. This workbook takes this goal a step further with:
- Refreshed and Edited Versions of the Daily Tasks and Teaching
- New Bonus Material – each day has extra tips, questions and reflections (6000 extra words of content to help you extend the daily tasks and help you to apply them)
- Notes Areas – if you print out the book there is room to take notes, record ideas and make plans to help you implement the content
- 94 pages of content – actually we put two pages on each page in the book so it’s actually 188 pages.
Grab Yourself a Copy Today
Whether you’ve completed each of the 31 Daily tasks already and want to have a copy to dip into again and again as you continue to develop your blog or whether you’re yet to really start 31DBBB – I hope you’ll find this workbook helpful.
Grab your copy of the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog workbook here
PS: How are Bloggers using 31DBBB?
One of the things that I’ve loved about 31DBBB is seeing how it is being used so differently by different participants.
While originally designed for bloggers to work through over a month – the feedback that we’ve been hearing from bloggers indicates that 31DBBB is being used in a variety of ways including:
- Intense Training – bloggers setting aside days, weekends or weeks to go through multiple tasks at once
- 1 Task a Day – the way we designed it – one day at a time
- 1 Task a Week – bloggers taking their time with the challenge and making the tasks week long tasks
- Monthly Cycle – bloggers using the tasks again and again each month as a monthly routine for their blogging.
- Occasional Inspirational Resource – bloggers dipping into 31DBBB on a more occasional basis – using it on days when they have time or lack inspiration.
The great thing about 31DBBB is that you can do it at your own pace and in your own way. Daily tasks don’t need to be done daily or in any particular order as all but two are independent tasks that can be repeated time and time again to help you grow a dynamic blog.
Grab your copy of the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog workbook here
PS: A special thanks to the team at SitePoint who helped with cover design and editing as well as to Reese Spykerman with help with layout and design.

Hi Darren,
please make sure you broadcast loud and clear when the affiliate program begins, as I am anxious to write a review of my own and start selling the workbook for you. It’s a great resource, one every blogger should have on hand all the time. All these exercises should be done periodically, over and over again. It’s advice that never gets old.
Thanks for being there for us!

@ Make money from blogging – Are you serious? Darren DID HAVE this project out for free…
Or did you miss this from the post?
This workbook is out there for several reasons:
- People can feel free to work at their own pace
- Can be used as a one-stop reference tool, and
- It offers up new ideas in addition to the entire 31 DBBB project that he ran for free ALREADY.

To Make Money from Blogging,
I appreciated the free 31 day blog challenge and thought it was great business sense to offer a workbook collection for those that may not be as organized to keep everything all together. The price is too expensive…..
from Darren: I’m sorry that it’s out of your price range BMB. The way I priced this was to survey 20 or so participants in the initial course as to what they felt it was worth. The average figure mentioned was in the $25-$30 price range (most said $1 a day was reasonable).
While plenty of people charge a lot more for an ebook of this length (essentially it’s 180+ pages) I didn’t feel comfortable with that so went with $19.95. I know it won’t be for everyone but the general consensus that I’m reading from people reviewing it is that I probably under charged.

Congrats on the release Darren! I was in the “31 Days to Build a Better Blog” program and found the information invaluable. As a reader of ProBlogger.net and owner of your first book, I was really excited to get my hands on this workbook. It definitely doesn’t disappoint, either. Darren,
Someone needs to stand up and publically call out these “professional” publishing houses that edit and proof for bloggers.
It appears they believe nobody will check their work or care that they did a sub par job. I purchased and proofed your 31 days pdf last night and found that 72 proofing corrections went unnoticed. This is unacceptable. You are one of the biggest bloggers on the planet and for them to miss that many for you is ridiculous.
For the last couple of years, I’m noticing this happening more and more and it’s got to stop. Let this public kick in the arse to your publisher be the beginning. I’ll send you the proof; just contact me with the email you want me to send it to.
Regards
Shane
PS. Otherwise, it was an awesome book and I thank you kindly.

Darren,
Great idea. I’m working my way toward buying the book. I signed up for the free course, but ‘real life’ got in the way (too many apartments to clean to stay caught up). As I don’t have my website design solid yet it was easy to just toss the links to each day’s assignment in it’s special folder after skimming it briefly, but even so my mind’s never far away from the challenge as I continue to use every spare minute to learn how to market myself online, website design and how to be a better blogger/social networker.
I did have a chance to read some of the forums that went so well with the challenge a few times and the excitement and focus of the course attendees made me giddy in anticipation of my own future participation. I’m not concerned that I’ll be too late in the game as I see new posts every time I take a peek in the forums. I’m not alone in continuing to strive for your level of dedication and excellence.
For those commenters above who said the book is ‘too expensive’ or ‘repetitive of the free course’, I’d first encourage them to review the book’s pre-review by those who not only took the free course, but participated faithfully on a day by day basis for the entire 31 days of the challenge. I don’t see any of them saying it’s too expensive nor that they’ve already completed it sufficiently. Far from ‘dissing’ the book, they are overwhelmingly anticipatory of it’s release.
When looking for reviews on something I’m contemplating purchasing, I always look to those who’ve used the product personally or at least something similar from the same creator. That the book so closely ties to the free course makes it much simpler to use the reviews of the course and/or the anticipation of the book by participants in the course as sufficient sources for my own pre-review. Their responses are overwhelmingly positive so, yes, I’ll be buying the book even though it will strain my finances. After all, I can give up donuts/convenient store coffee/sodas for a month in order to use a proven and well reviewed source to educate myself on how to be a better blogger. Well worth the price is my own pre-review.

Darren, thank you for this ebook!
I really appreciate it. If you are blog for business and are just one person, it is useful to do a revision once in a while. It is also nice to have your suggestions, just makes it easier to jump in and do something.
I tried to do the free course in 31 days, but got sidetracked. This time I’m setting aside 4 consecutive Saturdays to review the parts I feel I need most.

I don’t think I’d find myself wasting money on this. I hate paying for xxxx that people think they’re too elite to share for free.
Edited for language
From Darren: Sorry you feel this way Jenny. In actual fact the majority of what you get in this book has been made available for free over the last 6 or so weeks here at ProBlogger. As mentioned in this post – the reason I’m offering it is that people found the free content so valuable that they wanted to have it all in one document so that they could come back to it time and time again. If that’s not for you – that’s your prerogative but please get your fact straight and do try to keep your language reasonable.

@ Make Money From Blogging – are you serious? First of all, ShoeMoney is only offering his 12 week course for free because it is going to get a ton of people to sign up for ShoeMoney Tools and the Elite Retreat. I don’t fault him for this at all…just saying he’s not exactly doing it out of benevolence.
Also, its absolutely hilarious to me that when I go to your blog (which makes it clear you have no imagination…john chow knockoff) the first thing that comes up is a promo for Darren’s Book you just ripped on. Brilliant. And please learn to speak English.

Jenny, Darren DID share much of it for free. I’m sorry you clearly missed the 31 days that he was posting about it here, that you could’ve signed up for yourself, for absolutely nothing.
The workbook does have additional, updated information in it, but in no way is it fair to call Darren out that he’s thinking he’s “too elite to share for free”. Maybe you should peruse the 4+ years of free content here on the blog instead, but the workbook has proven to be an invaluable resource for many others.

Definitely considering this. Great resource I can only assume and I think it would help a lot. Thanks for the offer.
For those complaining that it costs something, please knock it off. This guy has been working his butt off for YEARS to get to this point. He consistently provides amazingly quality information on this blog FOR FREE. He’s making a living; this is his job. He has to charge for his products. What you’re asking for is for Darren to hand out, for free, all the information he’s acquired through his hard work and dedication. What would be the point in him having done all this if he couldn’t make any profit from it? Be glad he’s offering the resource at all, stop complaining.

I really appreciated and benefited from the 31DBBB – I have a bit of an issue with paypal (some fraud let to account closure and it made me run a bit scared of signing up again) so will consider the two book offer as it negates the need for paypal (I think!).
But to people who are less hung up with paypal, I’d definitely recommend it!

Just been reading through all the comments on this post. It’s interesting that people are complaining that you are charging for a recourse so valuable. If you don’t invest in your learning and education you will never get anywhere in life. And at $19.95 investment certainly isn’t an expensive one!

I just got mine!
I’ve only had time to browse it, but I know – having gone through the 31DBBB – that it will be well worth the price.
The reason for my comment is to give huge KUDOS to Darren and his designers for putting the eBook in a computer screen friendly format!!!
I can’t figure out why more people aren’t realizing that 8.5 x 11 is a horrible format for an eBook. (OK – I’m guilty of this on my first eBook too, but it’ll be corrected on the second… LOL).
Anyhow, great job and great format Darren!

Adam

I am a bit confused why it only costs $29 that in the end it can change ones future. You know what guess, this is where kindness comes in. It is not really about selling and profiting from that offer, its all about helping people build their own website and business.
In my case, I would not hesitate to pay for that :-)

Hi
Darren, i’ve not had chance to go through the whole book yet, but what I’ve read so far makes good sense to me, and this doesn’t just apply to blogs, it applies to any kind of online content publishing.
I’m a little perplexed about the folks who are so cheap that they think they are entitled to this information free of charge.
Still, it’s their loss, not mine.
Cheers

Hello, everyone.
I’m interested in buying a copy of this, but is it relevant to blogger? I know I should be using wordpress etc etc, but I ‘ve gone and filled my blog with a lot of content, and I feel it maybe a massive task to transfer. I wouldn’t want to purchase this, only to find it is aimed mainly at worpress blogs, templates, add-ons etc. Thanks in advance, guys!
Lara Kulpa
June 7th, 2009 9:05 pm
Doing a transfer is amazingly simple, Kristian… there are tools inside both blogspot and wordpress that make it happen with just a few clicks and some minor cleanup afterward. Honest!
To answer your question though, there are tons of people who did the free course that were using blogger… many of whom decided to make the switch to self hosted because they realized that the ability to fully customize their site was important to them in order to be able to sell ads and do some other stuff like that. The tools and assignments in the program do work for any type of blog, not just WordPress or TypePad or anything like that… it’s well worth the shot no matter what setup you’re using. (But I personally am a huge proponent of self-hosted WP and have made switches for people dozens of times… it’s really NOT complicated, I promise.

Loving the workbook – actually documenting my usage since I am a true first time blogger. Hoping to see what results I will get from using your workbook. So far in a week I have read 3 or 4 chapters and completed the tasks. I am sure it is basic for some people out there, but for me this is all new and so challenging.
Thanks for the book- and I look forward to using your book to help build myself and family a better blog.

This was a well-spent $20. While I had read some of this elsewhere, I got some great, practical tips for writing some “formula” posts that I have already written and several more I have planned. Motivated me to get a notebook for my post ideas and filled several pages already. Also, I learned about a few new tools to apply to a blog to extend its capabilities. Thanks Darren

I’ve been following the update of the live 31DBBB and was so gutted that i had missed out on it. But this lil eBook couldn’t have come at a better time. We’re having a little SEO Competition at work, brand new blogs and each month the winner will get a point for various metrics such as visitors / bounce rates etc etc (read more here: http://www.iamsearch.co.uk/seo/tour-de-seo/). So this will be my secret weapon – along with my usual tactics, it will be interesting to see if this ACTUALLY says what it does on the tin so to speak!
Cheers
Amrit.

Hi Darren,
I just stated a blog about Apple iPhone and not sure should I focus on the blog design or blog post.
For your information, I do the blog design myself with the helps from thesis support and hoping the blog layout design will almost look like yours. LoL… I think your blog layout design is perfect and professional.
I bought the 31 days work book and I have not started to read it yet as now I still manage to grow the blog but slowly.
I really hope you can post more YouTube videos in future.
Take care…

I have been meaning to relaunch my personal blog. For some reason, I got bored with in and the content just wasn’t that great. I think the key is planning and this book will hopefully help me relaunch a newer and better one over the coming weeks.
