I read your post twice, and hung on every word your wrote. I even printed it off for referencing. Being new at blogging, I truly find your style in the KISS method, for which I am truly grateful. I am a frequent reader of your blog and have learned a lot in a short time. Thank you!

Thanks for this Glenn. Darren has written about sticky blogs before, but your article says something different to his. I've found it very helpful; the sort of thing I want to keep to refer to again in the future.

Signal the possibilities if they internalize (remember) what you're saying. Indicate the potential result/outcome/feeling that lies ahead after reading the post. It creates momentum and motivation.

Great informative post! Copywritting is one area I have to work on. When I first began blogging, I was guilty of long posts full of long paragraphs with no subheadings.

So I try to ensure to live by the rules you pointed out, mainly the short paragraphs and subheadings.

Something else to keep in mind is allowing the reader's eyes to 'breathe' by using short paragraphs and enough white space.

Great post!

Thanks for such useful tips on writing posts. I want to add an other tip:
At the end of the post, just after you finish "the meat" of your article, involve your readers in conversation and ask them to put a comment, mention their idea, add a tip, or give you a feedback of their experience in applying your suggestions in the post to their life or career, so you encourage your readers to get involve in conversations and to write comments for your posts. I usually end my posts with a sentence asking readers to put a comment. like this post: http://www.allsleepinfo.com/2008/12/how-to-become-morning-person.html

Brilliant! Thank you. And your post was a perfect example of the subject matter. You hooked me in and I read all the way to the end. Which is quite a feat, I should tell you. I never read an entire post word for word. :-)

Thanks for the tips. Isn't it interesting that traditional journalism is much different than blog writing? Wonder how universities will incorporate internet writing into their curriculum?

Really good job.

I love the fact you gave both generalized prescriptive guidance, along with specific examples to illustrate. It doesn't get better than that.

Well done Jedi knight.

Well blow me down!
You have shared some great tips here,..

I try to strike a balance from the begining to the end of my posts. It's hard sometimes to find that balance because you can get sucked into thinking optimization and not quality.

Thanks for the read

That was an enjoyable and informative read.

Among other things, I like how you write in a personal voice - not unlike Darren +_+
