Great post D. It's interesting to see you mix in more "Internet Marketing" methods into you blogging. To me it doesn't seem weird to do that because I started IM before blogging, but I don't see to many bloggers use these very good and effective strategies. Sometimes they even stick their nose up at them. lol. Anyway, thanks for the info, and post.

I keep telling myself I need to get organized and develop a cool newsletter .. the problem is ... I haven't.

That's really the only excuse I have. This article might have given me the motivation I need.

This is something a lot of people do to bring great loads of traffic and it works. Good to send it to all your readers and keep them updated! Way to go. Keep posting cool content :)

How many millions of dollars have you made from this blog already?

This post will result in a couple more I would guess :)

I fail to understand why you would get millions of readers from this. People who will get those newsletters are people who signed up to your newsletter. The 12 special newsletters will go to the same list of people.

I like the principle because I think it provides value for your subscribers but I think your "how 24 hours of work will send millions of readers to my blog" is a post title to attract traffic but is actually a lie.

Your plan is a one year plan. After one year, the newsletters will need constant updating (thus taking more than the inital 2 hours) because in the meanwhile, you will have written more posts about the subject the newsletters cover, so you will have to add links and so on. In a year, your projected new subscribers is 110,000. So at the most, those newsletters will get 110,000 readers. Not millions.

While it is a great idea in terms of providing value and building your brand, I object to the title of the post.

That is a great explanation of what is, indeed, a simple process. Thank you for making it clear and understandable. With many of tehse things there is little to fear, but inaction in implementation.

Great advise Darren.

I send out almost daily newsletters to our subscriber base and being finance professionals our most recent polls had all our readers wanting to be updated by emailed newsletter.

One thing we always found was that our archive got no love basically from a few days after the newsletter - being daily you tend to get them into the archive quickly!

I think I'll have to give this a try!

For those that have tried this, do you find you get any increase in "unsubscribes" due to the re-hash of old material? More interested I guess in "timely" posts like mine that are old news a fews days later.

Hi Darren;

Brilliant idea!

I have been using autoresponders for my newsletter for years and it is true that the first edition I send almost always had the highest open rates.

The trick is to use content that is fresh and timeless (meaning it will not date itself after a few months or years)>

All my best!

Great idea!

Just wondering about the newsletters being updated.

Is there a way to automate updating these newsletters with your latest posts on the particular subject areas?

That would be a great time saver!

Thanks again.
