I feel that you have nailed the few very good qualities a blogger (a successful blogger) should have in order to manage a good amount of loyal readers everyday. I mean look at it this way, there are so many surfers on the net. If one only focuses on the few who are die hard fans of your blog, then as you said.. they will do the rest of virus spreading.

The longer you stick with it, the better you’ll get at writing, the more traffic you’ll get, and the greater the rewards. Most blogs don’t do well because almost no one does well in the first x months. The people that go on to be boring, slow-burning successes stick with it and blog anyway.

There is no get rich quick scheme, but there are plenty of ways to get rich slowly but they all involve work, effort and time.

Telling bloggers they have to have “mojo” or “charisma” is like telling aspiring authors “You have to write well.” True–but obvious and useless. What the h*** is mojo and how do you get it? Don’t say that your content has to be attractive and compelling to readers. Duh! Please be more specific.

(1) realness (i.e. openness)
(2) authenticity (i.e. truthfulness)
(3) sincerity
and
(4) vulnerability

(…although these qualities may fall indirectly under mojo and charisma. If not within those umbrellas, then certainly close cousins.)

Part of having mojo and charisma, both in the real world and on a blog, is being open and approachable. People respond to someone (or some idea) they feel they have something in common with and can identify. After all, we are social/group-based creatures. Sure we want to learn or be entertained, but we also want to identify.

While sincerity and authenticity lends to a blogger’s authority and creates a certain level of trust with readers… if that same individual can also convey a bit of realness and vulnerability, then we’re talking magic.

As an audience, it’s hard to keep reading (listening) to anyone if we can’t identify with what is being said. It’s in line with the old adage, “Make me care.”

Perfect example: the P.S. section of Darren’s post. In this particular P.S., the writer (Darren) gives the readers (us) a glimpse of what’s going on in the back of his mind… his thoughts, hesitations, worries and concerns, and explains why he has them. It makes him human. It makes us care. Who can’t identify?

That, my fellow bloggers, is magic in action, and just one more piece to this complex puzzle.

Mojo, baby – is the key of all.

i believe that everybody has a unique mojo in them. The number one task for us is to find the mojo and ‘capitalise’ on it.

Yeah, baby, yeah!

Further, and this might fall under the “Charisma” category, but sometimes it takes a vibrant, unique personality. Look at Perez Hilton, Tucker Max, Violent Acres, among other very successful bloggers. They all stand out due to their eccentric personalities.

I’m not saying you should be something you’re not, but just like a great actor in a film can steal the spotlight from the other actors, a unique character is sometimes the force behind a blog’s success.

Persistence – you can’t win the race if you don’t stay in it. It’s easy to get discouraged when things go wrong. In order to be successful you have to make a commitment that you won’t give up no matter what. That doesn’t mean you have to be the best. It just means you have to keep trying, and continue to learn and improve as well as you can.

Diplomacy – I think that an overly harsh, cruel, hateful writing style turns off readers.

Enjoy yourself – If you have fun writing your blog, others will probably enjoy it too.

While I have broke five stories that will change the way the internet is used everyone of the is overlooked. I would like to ask you for an upcoming blog article about getting other major bloggers like TechCrunch, Cnet and Lifehacker to pick up you story.

I will be the first to say that my writing is less that great and I more of a programmer than a writer. But five articles that should have had major blogger interest have been completely shunned.

Got any recommendations for me anyone?

Passion also suggest that the blogger will keep writing regardless of the traffic simply because he believes his message is so important. That sort of dedication will soon pay big dividends.
