How Do I Make Money Fast Blogging?

Posted By Darren Rowse 27th of April 2008 Blogging for Dollars 0 Comments

Speed-Posting@eMarv asked – “how can one make 25K in 2 months by blogging? :) I know, I know… “

I think you know the answer to that question from your last few words. But when it comes to blogging it’s not a get rich quick thing. I don’t know too many (any) bloggers who made $25k in their first two months. Having said that – I did meet a blogger this week who started a blog and 2-3 weeks later sold it for $3k – so I guess there are some ways to build them quick and sell them off (but this is probably an exception rather than the rule).

My philosophy of building money through blogging is that the secret is in trending up over the long haul.

If you’re after fast money head to the casino – but don’t hold your breath there either!

What would you add to this? Is it possible to make fast money blogging? How would you try if you had to make money fast through blogging?

  1. Darren,

Very, very true. A person should post often enough to keep subscribers happy, but still give good content that is relevant and current. In fact, I just wrote an article that addresses this in an even more frank tone–“Make Money the SLOW Way.”

Bottom line is, nobody I know has made that much money that fast blogging. Blogging is an accumulative effort–like interest in a savings account–it’ll take years of rolling over to amount to something substantial.

  2. This post has inspired me. I’m not one to make new years resolutions. IN fact, I’ve written posts indicate why most resolutions fail. I can say that I set goals, and my short term goal is a post a day for each of my blogs. Coming up with one good idea per day for each subject should be relatively simple. I’m really tired of article sites, compilation posts, or posts that are off-topic. I relied on such postings to get me through the second 1/2 of last year. One day at a time…one post at a time.

I probably make $200-300/year from Adsense, $2000 from Commission Junction/year, $200/year from linkshare and probably around $600/year from Squidoo.

That’s not much per year. But I will tell you this, I don’t try very hard. If I did, I would likely make much more. I rarely post anymore. I update my lenses and hubs occasionally and just let the little bit of money trickle in.

If you want to make GOOD money, you have to constantly work at it. It is possible, but you have to know what you’re doing.

  4. I think it is very possible to earn money quickly by blogging, given that you have a good plan, and of course the passion and determination to go along with it. How do you spend those two months? If you spend it bumming around, hoping your blog would magically earn you that money, it just won’t happen. But if you have a SMART plan and you achieve perfect alignment of your desires, your skills and your actions, then go ahead and prove to the world that things as close to miracles can indeed happen in reality. :-)

  5. The key is to get high rank on SERP.

Common problem that most blogger didn’t realize was so many false method applying SEO on their blog. Actually you dont have to spend a dime to get rank high on SEPR. I recommend you to learn to at least 10-20 ebooks talking about this. You can get those ebooks on my blog. Free to share.
