Yanik has taught me so much over the years. He's a great guy to learn not only internet marketing, but also just marketing in general.

I purchased Yanik's book, Moonlighting on the Internet, a few weeks ago and read it pretty much in one sitting. I felt very inspired by the end of it! The main drawback for me was all of the videos and other helpful URLs mentioned in the book were nowhere to be found when typed into his website. It just redirected back to the main page.

I hope to make use of some of his suggestions at some point, though. I've started a blog recently more for entertainment value to readers than anything, but hopefully I can take advantage of some of the other lucrative online opportunities.

I kind of fluctuate with feeling really inspired and optimistic, and feeling very overwhelmed.

That's what trying to save up over a hundred grand for a second college degree will do for you I guess, haha. I'm going to give it my best shot!

Darren is not kidding when he says Yanik is WILDLY SUCCESSFUL. If you're not familiar with Yanik, and you're trying to make money online. I think he has a personal blog over at

internetlifestyle.com

It's mostly just his stories. Not a "make money online" blog... but we have enough of those anyway...

I have a copy of his book that I bought from Barnes and Noble. I should say that it influenced me as well to go blogging. His interview with you towards the latter part of the book (on the subject of blogging) is a must read.

"Moonlighting on the Internet" has been available in the US at least a couple of months now. It covers a lot of the top ways to make money online; info products, ebay, blogging and affiliate marketing. I particularly liked the "moonlighting stories" throughout the book.

I think that there are many models of success on the internet and I think the vast majority of people get their success in smaller pieces,. Be it pieces of fame here and there and incremental income from several streams.

It’s great to be exposed to all the different techniques as you never know which are better suited for your own style and needs.

Thanks

When I first came to internet marketing, Yanik Silver was one of the two or three "gods" out there. He made millions from affiliate marketing pushed out with email newsletters referring back to skyscraper sites. He then sold his methods through online info products and made even more.

There's still a lot of value in those "old" Web 1.0 ideas, even if it's only the principles and experience behind them.

Glad to hear Yanik is still active in the space. Thanks, Darren.

You know -- for a second ... I thought you meant *Yaro Starak*. I should really read things a little more carefully! :)

(How many other influentials have names starting with "Y"?)

I love how people are working together, cooperating to produce value like this. This type of book really gains by having various people with different areas of expertise involved. Again it links back to the whole argument of being a publisher and a writer rather than just a blogger.
