Spammers Love Me on Technorati
Looks like Technorati have been hit by spammers targeting the Top 100 blogs by favoriting them. Read about it at Technorati Favorites Spam.
Here’s how the latest ‘favorites’ section on ProBlogger looks:
Apparently it’s the same for all Top 100 blogs at the moment.
I guess more people will just have to mark ProBlogger as a favorite of theirs to knock the spammers out!
Add ProBlogger to Your Technorati Favorites Here and defeat the spammers by pushing them down so they’re not viewable!

Just when you think you have figured out spammers and have tools to at least deter their actions, they come up with some smart ways to spam you more.
Even though this particular instance in Technorati is annoying, I must admit that its pretty smart thinking by the spammers!!
Lets see how Technorati counters this…

I hate spam. I’ve made ProBlogger a favorite. I thought it already was. I also saw the same thing for John Chow and Shoemoney.

Last year the - believe it or not - the NUMBER ONE popular blog of the Technorati top 100 was a spam blog for one day.
How they attained that feat is remarkable.
But it has never been repeated - so Technorati must have corrected the hack

You’re the favorite of many, the good ones as well the bad ones also. Btw, I have spam too. It’s the other side of the coin which can be decreased but impossible to stop.

Hi Darren,
these guys who think they re too smart and who l like to break the line and move ahead are a real pain. The unfortunate thing is that they do it at the cost of many who want to do the right things.

Unfortunately, at least some spammers must make money, otherwise they wouldn’t bother persisting. If they bombard enough people, they then only need a miniscule proportion of them to take action in order to profit.

Yes, a good feature to a website that allows users to input their thoughts might attract, but along the way it will always attract spammers. Programming must never leave niches to the websites where script bots can enter.

That’s really funny–but what specifically makes this spam?
Is it that these “fans” are in business?
That their sales message is shown in their avatar?
Or that you do not like their choice of products?
If they were selling Wordpress templates instead, would you still call it spam? Or how about if they were moving Bibles?

The good ones are quite rich. I know of a few earning $100,000+K a month. Search “Black Hat” in google and you will find out all about it. Infact, the ones who are talented in Spam are usually the best SEO’s, but choose to use their talents for evil not good.
