The only outstanding issues that I have are:
1. Parallels is not playing well at all. I work with a MacBookPro in a Microsoft shop so the last week hasn’t been fun. Apparently, others are having issues as well in reading Parallels’ support forums.
2. Firefox is slowwwwww in comparison to Safari. It’s as though Apple booby-trapped the browser!

It’s an incredible upgrade, though. I still think it was worthwhile although the 2 issues above have been painful.

I am glad to see that some of the annoyances that you first had with the OS have been ironed out. I love Mac OSX and everything Apple for that matter. I can’t wait to get Leopard on my MacBook Pro. Have you had any trouble with keeping all of your old apps and information running on the new OS?

Does any one able to install Leopard on eMac or unsupported Mac so far? How do you install it?

I upgraded on Saturday with an archive and install and it worked perfectly. No issues. I wonder if you have plugins in Mail.app that are causing the mail problem.

FYI: I have an early Intel iMac.

I just bought it last night, but because my disk drive is not working, I installed it with another computer, and mine in target disk mode!

Hooray! It’s really cool. And I’m having the same Mail problems that you are :)

Leopard Rocks! I’ve had NO problems at all. For those of you who want to try it but don’t yet want to part with Tiger, partition your hard drive. I made 2 partitions on my MacBook Pro, kept Tiger on one and installed Leopard on the other. Things have gone SO WELL with Leopard that I’ve not switched back to Tiger at all. I should state here, up front, that I received a copy of Leopard 2 weeks ago to test out, so I’ve been running it for a couple weeks now and doing quite well. I LOVE IT!

We hope you enjoy Leopard. We will probably stick with Tiger for a while longer.

However, we are sure Leopard would look really nice on our 24″ iMac… Sigh!

I’m running mine on a G4 eMac … yep, 3 years old or more and she’s doing fine. Got Leopard yesterday and apart from the slowness as ‘back to my Mac’ started backing up onto my Firewire external hard drive, all’s well. Leopard looks and works beautifully, and I’m still discovering terrific features. Love file Cover Flow, Spaces, and Time Machine is like something out of Star Wars. There goes the weekend!

Gah… my dad ordered it, but UPS forgot to take the package for me with it. Someone I know that lives close to me got it though, and I was able to play a bit with it on his Mac. As it was on older one, with all sorts of programs installed already (he just did an update of his current installation), it didn’t run really smooth.

So I’m looking forward to Monday/Tuesday. I will probably have it by then.

I’m holding out for another couple of weeks before I upgrade, because I can see the ironing out the most important bugs by then.

Other than that, can’t wait, especially for TimeMachine which will certainly come in handy as you said, because having a backup-program built-in to the OS is the only hope I have of doing it frequently enough ;)

Darren, thanks for the post. I’m wondering what desktop system you loaded it on? PowerPC 1.4ghz or above? and how much memory. I’m trying to gauge if I have enough juice to upgrade to this OS. Thanks !

Oh I’m so jelous!
But even so, I’m going to be getting mine later today – and not just Leopard, but a whole new computer! :-D It’s been almost three years since this computer, and it was bottom of the line. So I’m crawling…
I can’t wait!
