Make a Donation to Lit Liberation

Here’s a quick shout out for a charity project that I’ve been supporting lately. Along with a number of other bloggers we’re trying to raise money for public education projects via LitLiberation.

It’s also a bit of a competition between those participating – we’re up against the communities of other blogs – but already the ProBlogger reader community has donated over $1000 and impacted the lives of over 60 students.

To donate head over to the DonorsChoose.org: ProBlogger page – we need another $8796 in donations to reach our $10,000 goal!

Ultimately I don’t care if you do it via the ProBlogger page or another blogs – I just hope that as bloggers we’re able to give a little something back and make a difference.

  1. Great initiative, Darren. I’ll definitely blog about this – anything for a good cause!

  2. This is a great cause. It would be nice, though, if those outside the US were eligible for the prizes :) .

  3. Great initiative!!

Unfortunately my boss fired me yesterday because I was working on my blogs and sites to much! LOL

Now that I’m also a Problogger from of today ill set this as another goal of mine. I already have some money coming in from several regular sites but when I’m completely in the save zone ill makes some contributions too.

    Goodluck with your “competion”.

  4. This sounds like an excellent project, I’ll check out the site.

And Vince, wow, sorry to hear about your job….that would make a good topic to blog about, though!

  5. Stacy says:

Thank you for taking part in this challenge and for letting us know about this great site!

  6. Thanks for letting us know about this. I’m a big advocate of literacy programs and since one of the projects on your list was practically in my backyard, I made a donation to support it.

    Nice work!

  7. I love it when I see things like this. I believe that if you give of yourself, the benefits come back tenfold.

DH and I have had it pretty rough lately, but I try to find some money to donate to charity when I can; even if it’s a dollar or two. I tell my DH that no matter how bad we have it, there’s always someone else out there in a situation worse than us.
