So there you have it. Be funny, silly, serious, it doesn’t matter! Just finish that statement in the comments section of this post and you’re entered to win one of the above prizes.
Rules: One entry per person. If you have already won something from one of our other giveaways, you are not eligible to win. Winning one of the prizes listed above will prevent you from being able to win any other prizes for the duration of the giveaway.

If I had a million dollars…I’d set up 529 plans for my nephews and nieces, pay down my mortgage and student loans, and invest the rest. But it’s a moot point since I’m not eligible to win this prize and I don’t play lotteries or things of that sort as they meant for people that don’t understand basic math.

Well first, off I’d pay off all those crappy thing like student loans and my car and credit card payments. Then I might find a nice modest house to live in (and pay it off…no more rent!)
Then I might, er, expand my anime and manga collection a bit.

I’m sure some charities would get something.
I’d probably sock whatever is left away.

If I had a million dollars…I’d actually only have about £500,000 british pounds and with the prices in Edinburgh I’d have to spend it wisely :)
I could probably get a house and a bit of land in one of the posh areas, but I would rather move further out and buy a plot of land and build my own house, not with my own hands you understand, but I would like to have a hand in designing it.

If I had a million dollars… I would put the money in an investment account that receives at least a 7% interest rate and live off of the $70,000 a year in interest.
Then I would be free to continue my work, I work at a local charity, and be able to give all my salary back.

Easy. I’d pay off my parents’ house and clear the debt they incurred when the economy went south and took Dad’s retirement with it. With what was left, I’d give some of it to my niece and nephew for college, some of it to charity, some in the bank, and, well, maybe a new car, huh?

If I had a million dollars… I would pay off all of our debt and all of that from our family and close friends. Then I’d quit my job and stay home with my kids, in a larger (but not huge) house. And I’d hire a housekeeper! :)

If I had a million dollars the first thing I would do would be to pay off my house. Then I would put the remaining into diversified investments that I could use to fuel my business and get the tools and space I need to reach my vision in my market and discipline. I feel doing this will help me make unshackle me from one current debt and free me up to go to the next level in which I would make more than a million dollars.

If I had a million dollars… I give $ 900,000 to UNICEF and $ 50,000 to my parents and $ 40,000 would go to having fun with my wife and kids and the last $ 10,000 I would spend on new computer equipment from Apple :-)

If I had a million dollars I would have a house for young men to teach them how to be fathers and men in todays society. I would name in in honor of nephew who was killed last year. The Jacoby D. If I had a million dollars… I would buy a small house somewhere and put the rest in a bank account and live off of the interest.
Let’s say that the million dollars comes taxes-paid, for simplicity’s sake, and let’s say I bought a $100K house (which is easy to do if you avoid the big cities and are buying a house for one person). That would leave me with $900K.
If I earned 5% a year on that, I’d be making 45K for letting it sit in the bank, with no mortgage and no debt. That’s more than enough to live comfortably on.

If I had a million dollars… I would pay off current debts, get a $150,000 house, set money aside for my baby girl’s future college fund and work on funding/developing my site full time :)
Oh and probably take a trip to France with the family, oh and South Korea (StarCraft gaming capital of the world)

If I had a million dollars the first thing I would do is buy my husband his own vehicle. We have been down to one car for over a year now and I am sick of taking him back and forth to work every day.
The second thing I would do is move out of this tiny house and into a larger one so that my 9 year old can finally have her own room. She’s been sharing with her 6 year old twin sisters since the day they came home from the hospital.
Third I would pay off all of our debt. Actually, this should have been first I guess, oh well.
Other things would be to help out family members in need, save for my kids college education and DONATE.
Oh, and I would also want to indulge in a brand new computer just for me with all the bells and whistles.

If I had a million dollars…I’d start a company that would get businesses to sponsor individual special needs and under priviledged kids. In large corporations each department could sponsor their own kid. And the departements could have competitions to see who is helping their sponsored kid the most. It would be so cool.

-I would spend $200,000 getting an amazing software product that I know of off the ground.
-I would invest $150,000 among several authors that I know could be successful if they had the resources.
-I would spend $20,000 getting my books going.
-I would use $250,000 to set up a scholarship fund for children, though not sure of the specific focus.
With the rest I would officially open my own consulting firm, travel as much as I could, and invest the rest (half in real estate and the rest in guaranteed return accounts).
Darren – fantastic question. It’s interesting that there’s always this fantasy of becoming rich, but to sit down and really think about what would be done with the money was an interesting change. I’ve been a lurker here for quite some time, but I couldn’t resist posting :)

If I had a milion dollars I’d give my parents half (they deserve the whole thing but I’m no saint!). Then I’d give my two brothers $25K each, and my sister $50K. With my share, I’d buy a house and a car.
I’d be happy to keep working, especially knowing that I wouldn’t be working to pay off a mortgage or a car!

If I had a million dollars, I would pay off everything I own, sell my house, and buy one of those silly RV’s that is fully loaded. We already homeschool our children, so we would load up the RV and travel to every corner in the US. I would visit all notable land marks, and even some that no one knows about except locals.
I would then start a blog about my travels and document and take pictures of everywhere we have been. It would be a dream life style, and even one that we are currently working towards now. But, a million dollars would definitely expedite that dream.

This is an easy answer for me as my family and I have been clawing our way out of debt for the past 18 months and we have an agreed upon formula for all financial windfalls:
40% would go to taxes (from what I understand for large amounts, never had the pleasure of finding out for myself!)
10% off the top goes to charitable contributions (tithes, non-profits, whatever)
10% goes to savings
10% goes to family fun
30% (the rest) goes to bills
So, here’s my million dollars:

- 400,000 taxes
=600,000
- 100,000 charity
=500,000
-100,000 savings
=400,000
-100,000 family fun
=300,000
-300,000 bills (which would pay off everything including my house)
= 0 worries

Actually I would talk with my banker to verify that million would be enough for this dream to come true, but …
Another potential obstacle is that we have limited number of years that we can spend on hiking trails. I would have to figure out, what I would like to do when hiking is no longer fun or my body simply wouldn’t be able to cope up with it.

A million dollars is a substantial amount of money but it won’t change your life. I live in NYC where a million dollars might buy you a crappy 1 bedroom apartment.
If I had 100 million dollars, I would put it all in triple tax free municipal bonds and live on my 4 million net annual tax free salary.
With that kind of money, I would do cool stuff like hire a DJ to follow me around with turn tables on wheels so I could have my own entrance music like Hansel in Zoolander. In addition I would import a Cuban hand cigar roller guy to roll me a cigar whenever I was in the mood.
Another move I would love to pull is something Aristotle Onasis once did. Aristotle went to an ultra-exclusive private club in Rome one night. The doorman didn’t recognize him and refused to let him in. Onasis got offended and called for the owner to come outside where he proceeded to pull out his check book buy the place, shut it down and kick everyone out on the spot. Now that is money!

If I had a million dollars, I would put the money into an investment account, quit my job (and DH would quit his too). We would hook up with several Christian missions organizations and start doing serial short term missions–traveling to a country setting up for 6 months-2 years and work on finishing some project for the mission. We would live off the interest and totally support ourselves. If I had a million dollars I would give my life to God. I guess I already have given my life to Him even without the $$$, but it would look a lot different if I had a million dollars.

If I had a million dollars, the first thing I’d do is take my mom, my step-dad and my grandma to Holland. Both of my mom’s parents came from there when they were young and she’s always wanted to visit there.
Then I’d take my kids to Alaska to visit my sister and her family. We haven’t had a chance to make the trip up there yet but I’ve always wanted to go.
Then I’d pay off all my bills and my step-dad’s medical bills.
I’d give at least 10% to my two favorite charities, the USO and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
I’d pay someone to help me improve my blog, then I’d invest the rest.

I had a million dollars I would build an eco-village, co-housing community. I would buy the land and commssion the building of the first 5 eco friendly houses while an architect created the design plans for a communty that would eventually have 100 homes. The first five homes would go to my family and friends and we would reach out to other families in the US and elsewhere that want to create a true communtiy of people dedicated to family and planet. I would love for this community to be virtually off the grid and completely slef sustaining.

Wow. I could spend a million bucks pretty fast.
First, tithe. Second, taxes. Third, more kids.
We currently have 10 children, all adopted, with two more moving in this month.
If I had a million dollars, I would pay off our house and remodel it so that we could adopt more children. I would invest enough that I could quit one of my jobs at least to spend more time with the kids.
And I would use some of it to help other families adopt some of the 119,000 kids and teens in the U.S. who are legal orphans waiting for families.

hmm.. considering the possibilities that one has of having a million dollars, one wonders that either I have to be very lucky or real shrewd to either win a million bucks or earn it. Now if I am lucky enough to win it why not take my chance blow it up all on a world tour in the most expensive of restaurants and hotels.. chances are I’d pretty much win it again.. even if i don’t i ll get famous as the person who blew his million dollars without spending even a a buck on something worthwhile, and a famous guy needs no excuse to make another million bucks.. I’d be on Oprah!!!
having said that, if i earned my million dollars, i see no reason why i shouldn’t be able to do it yet again. so I’d still go on a world tour, still spend on the most exotic and expensive of places and yeah become famous again… and earn another million dollars because am famous.. and since i know how to earn a million bucks anyway I’d earn it again and am caught in a soup now because i have to think of what i would do .. IF I had 2 million dollars…

If I had a million dollars, I’d pay off my debt and learn to relax I’d get rid of my business and run my blog from home. I’d buy my son and his family a house. I’d travel to Europe. I’d spend the winters in Las Vegas. ;) And I’d send my husband to Cleveland Indians Fantasy camp. And I’d donate to the battered womans shelter. I think I need two million to do all of that!

- I’d employ a full time Hawaii blogging team to write posts about Hawaii enticing to everybody to go on a Hawaii vacation right away!
- I am dreaming of my Hawaii blog playing different mellow Hawaiian tunes each time people login!

I want my Hawaii blog to be the Best Hawaii Vacation Blog ever, with advertisers standing in line for a 24×24 link on my blog!!!!!!!!

If I had a million dollars, I wouldn’t hesitate to pay off any and all debts, and then quit my 9-5, to persue a life of Pro-blogging, website development, and photography from ‘home’ (aka where ever my notebook can plug into a high speed connection.)
This would provide all the base money to support me and my needs whilst I get my dream life off the ground.
I am currently working towards this dream, but “If I had a million dollars…” it would come together all that much faster.

If I had a million dollars…. heck Id use about 25% myself (greedy ‘ol me) but then after the greed and hunger for money disappears Id spend the rest of the $750,000 to eradicate illiteracy in Pakistan – in actual terms it would mean probably with 75% or Rs. 45,000,000 which can easily educate and feed a couple of hundred thousands living.

I could totally live on $50,000 per year if I didn’t have to pay for gas to get to work! Then we could have a little fun by doing some shopping, get a new car, a great computer system, a home theater system. And then I’d do something just for me…I’d start my own small business. Something I’ve always wanted to do. This might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for me it’d be a lot of dreams come true.

* I would donate a chunk to church and charity, possibly even setting up some sort of formal philanthropic venture.
* I would buy a whole compound – an acreage to build my dream house (solar powered, mind you!), complete with a huge room for my knitting & crafting, and a special area for homeschooling my three children. The compound would also include housing for my mother, mother-in-law and some space for friends in need. Sort of a co-housing community, if you will.
* Travel, travel, travel! And I would blog about the whole thing from my souped up mobile phone (of course, I would buy some more fancy, schmancy software for it first!).
* Teach my children fiscal responsibility.

IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS…….
I’d redesign my blog, and get my own datacenter server, and buy a 2 terabyte desktop computer with five monitors, and a high-end laptop with 750 gigs, and hire five bloggers to post on my blog. They would also get a cut of the ad revenue. I would hire blog designers to tweak and streamline my fine blog full-time.
I’d also help out my family and community, and develop ways to GIVE BACK to the ProBlogger community as well as to bloggers in general!
I love problogging so much!

If I had a million dollars… I’d pay off all my debt, buy a house, buy a few new toys (camera gear), and invest the remaining amount. Depending on how much was left to invest, I might keep some aside and quit my day job to try blogging and photography full time… at least for a little while.

If I had a million dollars… I would pay off my school loans and my mortgage. Then I would pay my parents’ debts and mortgage.
After that – I would fly my sister and her boyfriend into Orlando, from Massachusetts, and take a cruise with them and a few select friends as a celebration. I would find a job that would allow me to do what I loved – even if I wouldn’t get 40 hours a week!
I would decorate my home to be welcoming as well as productive. That way, I could write more and even get a dog to keep me company when my boyfriend and other friends are at work.
I’m sure that there is plenty else that I would do, but I would have to actually have the money to do them!!

If I had a million dollars, I would contact some of the scam victims that I have made phone calls to over the past three years – people who lost large amounts of money to the Nigerian 419 scammers.
I wouldn’t be able to give them all back exactly what they lost because some of them lost a lot more than 1 million over the years. I would take the million dollars and divide it up by the amount of people who lost money to the scammers, and I would give them a little bit back each. For some of them this would cover their losses, for some of them this might cover their legal expenses because many of them were arrested for check fraud in the US.
The phone calls where I have had to call a scam victim and say – you’ve been scammed by (scammer name), did you send any money to them? – and the answer to that question is yes – have been some of the most difficult moments in my life. I try to stay strong for the people who lost money but it is difficult to keep it together when they’re telling you about the thousands of money they owe now.
On the other hand, there are often calls where the scam victim is *just about to* send the money. When I manage to warn them before they do that, those calls are some of the best moments in my life.

first i would pay university for my girlfriend to continue studying in my country. than we would get marry and spend a month on honeymoon travelling the world in our new aston martin that we just bought and on which is written just married :)
I would also invest in my own business, i would start advertising agency in my city and run a cafe bar.
i would share arround 200.000 to poor people to provide housing and clothes for them, since war ended there are still many families not living in their homes..

I would set up a scholarship fund for people to go to college in the field of teaching. There would be certain criteria to qualify for this scholarship which would pay for all 4 years of their college education such as:
1- student must be enrolled in an accredited teacher ed program
2- after graduation, he/she must teach for at least 5 years in an at/risk school (as determined by the state)
3-must pass all college courses necessary for graduation
4- student does not qualify for scholarships designated for the needy or the ones for the top GPA in their high school
5- must not have a criminal record dealing with any sexual activity or fraud

If I had a million dollars, presuming I didn’t need it to maintain my present standard of living (which includes buying lots of books from Amazon.com and being a multi blogger), I’d not spend a bit of it, I’d invest it.
And, with the profits from my investment, I’d support my projects, which would be many. I’d really like a billion dollars to work with, but, hey, a million is good too. A couple of my projects:
1. I’d buy up inner city and waste land, and build ecologically neighborhoods and supporting institutions and commerce centers, linking them together with wide non motorized walkways and bike paths. I’d add lots of open space, with natural plantings, keeping all the native trees and plants in place as much as possible.
2. I’d make schools better places for both students and faculty. Recess would reappear, both morning and afternoon, with an hour to play at lunchtime.
School lunch food would be nutritious, delicious, and attractive. No more skimping on the food or the service. All vending machines containing sugary drinks and candy, and salty treats would disappear.
Homework would be totally optional, and limited to fun projects the students could select for themselves. All levels would be open and fluid, students moving from one level to another when they were able to do that level of work in a particular subject area. All students would be A students, and allowed to take the time they need to reach A level work on any assignment.
Those are only part of what I’d do. Want to help me do it?

Then I’d fly to Zurich and deposit the rest in a bank account and travel a bit while I gave serious thought to how to spend the rest. A balance between charitable giving (probably sponsoring children) and investment (so the giving could last longer).
Also, I’d be able to say yes every time someone asked “do you want fries with that?”

If I had a million dollars, the first thing I would do without hesitation is give to the schools, friends and church I owe the most; the schools need serious money to upgrade facilities and in one case, stay open. Nothing I can give them would pay for the knowledge I received, but a hundred thousand per school would probably help them immensely. I can’t pay my grad school enough for giving me the knowledge to write this, though. It’s rare when you get something from a school that you’ll never forget no matter what, but my grad school gave me many unforgettable things to keep with me.
It’s difficult to relate to your church once you’ve left it, but I owe them for what was given. There would be no music in my life without them. Money doesn’t solve crises of faith, but it should give my friends who are still there more to do missions wise.
I have friends that need to get life started. Approaching 30 and still paying off student loans is no good – I’d definitely step in and pay off the debt for 5 of them.
After that much giving, I hope I would save enough so I could start my own school, and employ some people I think should be teaching and get to the business of making my own contribution to the world.

I’d pay off all my debts, clear my credit cards, and put aside money for both my kids to go to school. I’d go back to school, too – hell, why not? I’d invest in our business to help it grow. I’d buy a car. I’d calculate how much money I need to set aside to live for at least 10 years and set that aside. I’d travel and take trips, show my kids the world. I’d go to Nunavut by bushplane. I’d buy a cabin on a lake.
