using igoogle will solve some problems with heavy netvibes load. there are other alternatives too e.g YourMinis.

Wow! Netvibes is pretty impressive. I’m gonna have to check it out. As a long time iGoogle user, I feel bad switching platforms when it comes to keeping track of blogs, email, calendar, etc. But if Netvibes makes life even more easier, I’m definitely open to change!

There’s a couple of other ways to do this that might be less browser intensive, like with iGoogle and Page Flakes.

The key features to look for is the ability to subscribe to password protected private feeds without broadcasting your password (like stupid Bloglines does).

Have a feature to add any web page, or add bookmarks of your choosing is icing on the cake.

It’s funny how it takes about 15 minutes to set up, and you’ve saved that time within one day

Netvibes is a great startpage, but as we add more stuff, it gets bulky and crashes my browser :-(

Yes, I wrote this NetVibes guide for bloggers a little while ago. You may find it useful alongside the Internet Duct Tape article. One issue I have found with NetVibes is that it doesn't like it when you are logged in to the same account from two different computers/connections at the same time.

I’ve been using Netvibes as my homepage for many months. It’s fantastic to be able to see blog comments, Gmail, Facebook, Twitter and a range of other things to do with my blog and various other online stuff at a glance.

I’ve set up links directly to my blogging software, Technorati, my Bloglines feeds and a few other related pages.

I’ve also set up tabs with various news feeds so that I’ve constantly got a way of quickly sourcing information for blogging topics.
