27 More Blog Workspaces

A couple of weeks ago I took readers on a video tour of my blogging workspace and invited others to share theirs via video or picture. A few days later I put together a mashup post of 27 reader blogging workspaces. I said at the time that I wasn’t sure if I’d do another mashup – however the submissions continued to come in so I thought I’d do one last one.

Here’s the latest reader blogging workspaces (another 27 of them):

Bob Ostrom shared a fun view of his office:

  1. Joker says:

I like LiveWorkDream style of blogging… Looks relaxing… Lol

  2. Dafool says:

I have a really simple setup myself . I try to keep a minimalistic work environment to keep my mind “free of clutter”. It helps me stay in the zone when I’m blogging or designing templates.

  3. John Cow says:

Guess Cow HQ didn’t make the cut?

  4. Collin says:

The beach would be the place I would like to be at to blog.

  5. Patrick says:

    Thanks Darren.

  6. Kai says:

Hey, thanks for the mention! Greetings from Germany!

  7. Interesting stuff :D I like LWD’s ‘outdoorsy’ setup :)

  8. I love seeing those Macs! I just can’t wait until I get my own soon.

  9. Rob O. says:

    Here’s another:

  10. Missy says:

I didn’t realize it was terribly common to have a gazillion monitors up all at the same time. woah! I only have the one, but it is 27 inches. lol. I wish.

  11. Andy Merrett says:

@Missy: Having multiple monitors IMO makes it so much easier to achieve things. When I started blogging (even full-time) I was working on a 12-inch Powerbook G4, which apart from feeling like it was going to die halfway through the day (Summer 2006 in the UK was sweltering, unlike this year) left very little room to manoeuvre windows and applications around.

Now, I can have my blog editor on one screen, and my articles on another, and still be able to see emails, a Skype window, and such like.

The faster Mac helps, too, but screen real estate is almost more important to me.

Admittedly it’s not so eco-friendly though I could argue I get work done more quickly :) I do sometimes turn the second monitor off if I’m playing a game or watching TV and nothing else, and only need the one screen.

  12. Blog Opinion says:

From what is your blog workspace doen’t matter keep blogging sharing your experience. :)

  13. Debo Hobo says:

I would love to blog from the ocean.

  14. Those are some nice work stations y’all!
    I like’s Bob Ostorm illustration.
    And I liked Kai’s set-up.
But all of y’all have nice set-ups!

I’m actually going to be updating my setup in the next month or two.
I’m going to upgrade from my iBook G4 to a vamped-up Mac Book, get a 20″ Apple Monitor, Apple’s new keyboard – probably the wired one for the full keyboard function (I already have a wireless Mighty Mouse), and then an external flash drive.

    I’m really excited about it!

  15. Peter Cooper says:

I love the one with the swords!

I didn’t submit mine, but here it is anyway.

  16. Dave says:

Darren – This is Dave, you referenced the video of my office from somebody else’s that I had in my blog post (that’s why they are different). Here’s the video from MY office:

  17. Darren Rowse says:

John Cow – sorry I forgot yours because you submitted yours via email instead of as a comment. But added it now.

  18. John Cow says:

Thanks for having us Darren :)

  19. Deb says:

    Thanks, Darren!

  20. Darin Carter says:

boy I have to put up a video of my office ! It’s a Mess!
    Darin

  21. Those are some nice setups, mine is definitely a lot messier. Every time I clean it up it gets all cluttered again, I guess that’s how I work best! I would love to have a nice and shiny 30 inch apple screen or even an imac, soon or later I hope!

  22. Rob O. says:

Ooops, I didn’t get mine submitted either:

    My workspace

I’m noticing a certain degree of similarity between Paul Ryan’s setup and my own home office. Gotta love that perky paint color!

  23. Harri says:

This blog workspace is a great idea, Darren! I had been wondering where other people write their blogs. I write mine in the bus :) It’s the only place where I can take couple of hours a day without interference. It’s also a good way to keep constantly writing since there isn’t much else to do.

You can check out my “desk” in my flickr photos:

  24. Cosmin Ghiu says:

darren – excellent post! i love seeing everyones setup especially the PANAROMIC photo!

  25. petite mommy says:

Thanks for sharing my video too.

All the other videos & pics are great. Most of you are very organized. ;) My desk is always very messy. I need to get organized. Hot Daddy has the dual monitor set up. I just can’t get into it.

  26. Kamal says:

thanx Darren….. for postin them up here easier go through….
    ppl got sum neat workstations

  27. Frank Cantu says:

Wow! Thanks for including my blogging setup! If anyone is interested in knowing, it mainly consists of: a MacBook Pro, Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard + MX Revolution mouse, 8GB iPhone — and of course — the Japanese swords!

  28. Miracle says:

What’s up with all the monitors? I really think many people are going overboard with their setup. I always have 15+ applications and windows open on my pc, but I’d go crazy if I had all those monitors. Isn’t that what alt+tab is for? It is much more cost-effective. I guess it is a real help to those who need it though. For all you multi-monitor bloggers, am I missing out on some benefits?

  29. Pádraig says:

Wher e I work and play!.

Am I the only one who didn’t tidy up?

  30. Michael says:

I didn’t tidy up as I had recently put the desk together, the usual junk was piled up on the floor awaiting its return to the desk. Now you cannot see the desktop.

From this post I think I need more than one screen like most other people.

  31. I didn’t clean up before I took the picture; otherwise, my pistol, magazines and ammo wouldn’t be there! Thanks, Darren!

  32. Now, I can have my blog editor on one screen, and my articles on another, and still be able to see emails, a Skype window, and such like.
