How Many Posts Did You Write Last Week?
Time for a quick reader question:
How many Posts did you post to your blog/s last week?
Lets make the dates from Sunday 10th June to Saturday 16th June.
I’ll kick it off:
Here at ProBlogger I posted 17 posts - at Digital Photography School I posted 5. Those numbers are pretty average for me (although at ProBlogger I was relying upon guest posts pretty heavily last week).

I think I posted 19 articles on my site, although it’s not really a “blog”, it’s a How-To site.
I did write 4 posts on my actual blog.

I have 5 (with one in timestamp).
The problem was that I was away, and I’ve set up a blogger friend with an account to guest post but he couldn’t do it.
Hope I can get 7-8 this week.

Surprisingly, 3. I have only written 5 blog posts since April, though (which include these three). I should get moving! :)
Oddly enough, my RSS feedreading statistics are going up (+60) rather than down.

I wrote 8 posts and posted 6 of them last week. But writing about judo in norwegian isn’t exactly a niche with many blogs so I don’t have to worry about the competition. (There are aprox. 3500 judoka i Norway. :-) )

I got about 10 posts done last week, which is significantly under what I’d like to be doing. But I put in my two weeks notice at work (so they have me working a lot of extra hours). One more week and I’m free to make my income online (hopefully!)

I wrote 17 posts last week, that is only slightly higher then my weekly average which is 15. I try to write 3 posts a day during the weekdays and take the weekends off. But, lately I’ve been writing 1 or 2 on Saturdays and Sundays.

June 18th, 2007 7:42 am
I posted 15, but it’s a new blog so I feel the creative juices flowing. Not sure if I can keep up with that many. Hoping to sit around 10 per week. I prefer to do one a day during the week and a few extra on weekends when I have more time to research and write.

Matt
June 18th, 2007 7:54 am
Between those dates I posted 25 times. Several of them were advance written and then timestamped to within those dates, but I counted them anyways.
My goal has been 3-4 posts a weekday and 4 posts over entire weekend. So I was just a touch over those guidelines last week.

9. I post one a day, but sometimes I can’t restrain myself :-). Then I really want to share it with the rest of the Dutch speaking world, wrote some new pages for my corporate site http://www.ravisie.nl and busy designing another blog …

I wrote 19 posts lastweek, when you are writing about Technology and Gadgets, there seems to be a lot to write about.
I would like to try and get it up to 3 posts a day minimum, but having a full time job as well it can be difficult.

June 18th, 2007 8:47 am
I hold myself to one a day, so seven in that period. I’m a busy stay-at-home mom with a special needs child and very little time in the day to write, but blogging is my outlet. If I ever do manage to write more than one post in a day, I save the extra(s) so that I can post them on a day when things are so crazy that I need to take time off writing!

I work full-time on the side as well. The way I get things done is by using a point system. Some days I don’t feel like writing, some days I don’t feel like commenting, some days I don’t feel like networking, or whatever… I have to reach at least 50 points per day. 10 points for a long blog post, 5 for a short one, 2 points for a comment on a blog I’ve commented on before, 5 points for commenting on a site I’ve never commented on before, 1 point per comment on my own blog, 10 points for installing a new module/plug-in, etc. Works well for me. I think I may have created the system, or sub-consciously remember reading about such a thing somewhere.
I just know that the point system keeps production going while I also work a full-time job.
Anyway, enough of my blabbering.

I think I did a total of two. I have been slacking as of late although many of my posts are regarding my work so if there is nothing really interesting going on at work I won’t post anything on my blog. I know that isn’t good for continous readership, I’m trying to get that fire lit under my but again.

I posted 11. Most of these were written and timed stamped last week though, as I knew I would be busy to post, and then I’ve added a few small time sensitive ones. I am happy with this amount, however. I think one to two posts a day is a good amount.

23 Posts for that week (no wonder I didn’t get anything else done).
Lengths varied from 50-ish words to over 1000. to be fair, some of the stuff had been floating in my consciousness for a while but others were spontaneous posts on stiff that was interesting to me and i thought was worth sharing. My general principal is that 99% of what I think shouldn’t make it to the blog.
My aim is to post at least daily with something short and once or twice a week with longer pieces.

June 18th, 2007 3:01 pm
4 posts. I try to keep that pace for a while (a few months or so) before increasing to one post per day. I think it’s the same as with excercising: when starting you should keep the pace consistent but light enough so that you don’t tire yourself too much. Once you get used to running, you can run longer and so on… :)

I made 10 posts in that time period on my Craft a Craft blog. I also wrote a moderately long article for another site in that time period. I used to try for (and usually achieved) 2-3 a day, but I found that this can be hard to maintain, and after reading several other opinion posts discussing frequency, tried backing off a little. I find that my readership hasn’t dropped, has continued to grow at about the same rate, and people seem just as happy.
Getting some of the “load off” lets me make better posts (I hope), makes the process more entertaining to me (less drudgery) and if I have a day that I want to make 3 posts, so be it :-)

Just one post. I have been busy lately, and having a hard time coming up with things to write about. On the subject of time, I have given up on most blogs that have several posts a day. One of mu favorites typically has 5 to 10 a day. I jusat don;t have time to look through all of those to find what I am interested in. Am I alone in hitting information overload?

I didn’t post at all. But I’ve got lots of excuses:
I got a bit of writers block, I keep getting distracted, I was on vacation for 5 days and I spend too long reading other peoples blogs!

13. That would be typical of my recent blogging. I used to try to push out one post a day. Most weeks I would hit between 6 and 8 posts. But the last month or so, I have gotten a renewed interest in my blogging and am cranking out more content.

14 across my three blogs (one established, two of them newish): Seven on DVD Spin Doctor, three on Write for Blogs, and four on Downlod Movies 101.
Still getting the hang of writing for three blogs. Seems doable, since there are some synergies (you only have to troll the news once for all). But it’s definitely a stretch!

I posted 4 posts on my main business blog and 2 posts on my community blog.
I would be interested in how many comments you guys with the high subscriptions make. Obviously posting comments can increased your numbers and is something I need to do more of!!

I put up 14 posts in that timespan, and that’s a little less than I’ve been doing in recent weeks.

I posted 11 entries on the JMG–Galleries Blog discussing everything from landscape photography, nature photography, technology news and philosophy of photography articles. I usually aim for 5 entries, but as I read through out the week I’m often inspired by news articles and other blogs.

6 posts on a very new blog. Most of them were pretty involved too. They took me way too long to write also because of the research involved. I need to figure out how to write more quickly.

I made 17 posts on FlightSimX in that time. I normally make between 2 and 5 posts per day, depending on the supply of news stories.

I wrote 200 posts last week and I only have a small readership. I’m serious about my blog though and I hope it will take off soon. PokerLife Blog

18 posts at Needcoffee.com during that time period. Been trying to get some other sites up and running as well as going back and retrofitting some old posts, which, you know, can sorta sap your will to live.

Sadly none - my blog was still dormant at that stage… This week was not that much better (13-20/08) = 3. But I have managed to redo my whole site, add a mini-blog, forums, and finally determine what I am doing…
