have you seen The Australian Index? its been able to order australian blogs by technorati rank for a while now (link) and order blogs by state and technorati rank. eg if you want to rank blogs in victoria you'd go here

A ‘Top blog’ is a pretty difficult thing to define – some would say it’s about traffic, others about incoming links, some might consider it about earnings, others would talk about profile or influence, others might consider how many posts you’ve written, while others would talk about who was ‘first’ and had sustained their blog the longest. ………………….

I feel its the combination of all. Link Engaget, Techcrunch & Problogger. Set of people visit every day to know what’s hapening around.

I was a tad surprised by some of the comments in the article but was pleased to see the article all the same. I was first aware of a Top 100 list earlier in the week at Craig Harpers’ list which is updated on a regular basis.

Actually, not being an Australian, and currently being only esconced in the Tech side of the blogosphere, I would love to know about ANY Australian blogs that achieve better numbers than Darren.

Really, I’m serious! If anyone knows of any why don’t we put them up?

Here’s another point, not everything is about traffic, there is also *influence* to consider. If it came to a question of the most influential blogs about, then problogger is hands down right up there if for no other reason than it influences other influencers.

In any case, good to hear that at least one journalist evidently subscribes to some blogs!
