TECHNORATI’s basic method of ranking, is based on authority and not content (always). Meaning, its based on the number of blogs that link (subscribe) to your website, no matter if the same is utter crap (e.g.: exaggerated celebrity gossip) or does have authentic, genuine content (good readership).

The daft thing is if you read the forums there are loads of people who claim to have had their adsense accounts ruined by other people over clicking their ads. Just shows how fragile adsense profits are.

Special robots! LOL Sorry, I know it’s a serious subject, but the email reads as though it was written by someone with a Dr. Evil complex - I wonder if he has a Mini-Me.

Here’s the thing: the letter is literate. The person who sent it knows the difference between your and you’re. Real extortion letters are not so well written. My sense is that this letter is a viral ad for a new blog. And/or this letter is an effort to thwart actual extortion.

When I get big traffic spikes, Google never pays me for the extra clicks I get that day anyway! I guess I could only be happy to have the problem of worrying about my AdSense account being taken away from me! :)
