YPN has had its ups and downs. They have tried to be a bit more picky when it comes to what you can do. This was a long time in coming.

I do wish YPN would make some advancements in other areas to do something different than Adsense.

Soon... fingers crossed.

I don't think it's a problem Alex. Too many more ad units than 3 starts to clutter the page. If you need more just use something like Chitika as well to give you extra ad units.

[...] As Google mandates a max of 3 contextual ads per page, YPN has now announced they are following suit and also limiting their ad placement. (via Darren) I only see good in this, though I haven’t seen widespread abuse before now. Has there been a great deal of over-run YPN blog? [...]

When I first started using AdSense I was really pissed about this. However when I tried using only 2 adsense ads on a page for a while I actually noticed my earnings rise a little bit due to the fact that there were only the higher paying ads being displayed, and not all ads had optimal position. If you want more ads on your page, use adsense and YPN together, only 2 of each on a page and you'll have the highest paying ads for each network being displayed. That's my 2 cents.

Darren, could you explain exactly what this trend is going to do to probloggers? A big hit? Nothing to worry about?

Thanks,
