I’m looking forward to this series, but I’m so behind on my reading, I don’t know where I’m going to get time to do anything. Maybe I should go to 43Folders and get my GTD together first. Either way, Building Themes is definitely something I’m eager to learn about. Dusting off the CSS book right now.

Kind of ironic that a post about creating a Wordpress theme is returning a Wordpress error right now. Must be bad karma.
I’m looking forward to the series because I plan on developing a theme in the near future.

Man, I have been wanting to learn to create custom Wordpress themes for a long time. It is something that I will definately do, but continusouly put on the back burner. With my experience I am able to heavily modify existing themes to mold them into a more close design that I am looking for. Sometimes I say to myself that that could be more difficult than just building one from scratch. I will be sure to check out the resources included in this article and bookmark them for later use. Thanks for the article and the link.

Hi Darren,
I’ve been reading your blog for several months. This is the first topic that made me want to comment :). I’m a wordpress designer. Since I’ve been thinking about writing beginner level tutorials for wordpress themes (as content expansion for my own free-designs blog), I would like to contribute to your series, when it actually starts that is.
Just give me a shout or let me know when/where to send my stuff in.

I never made a theme, as am not a designer.. but i love sharing things in designing!
