For those of you wanting to give Text Link Ads (aff) a go that are not on WordPress – you might be interested to know that they yesterday announced that they are compatible with Blogger Blogs.

That’s great news. I have been keen to give Text Links Ads a try, but as a Blogger user I wasn’t able to.

Text Link Ads is one of the best programs out. They have great customer service and actually sell ads!

MM – yes, i’m hearing from a lot of bloggers that TLA has become the largest earner on their blogs – particularly smaller blogs that don’t yet have a lot of traffic but which have an established search engine ranking.

Not only that but I am seeing decent results when I advertise on other sites. It really helps drive up Pagerank.

You should get accepted from Text Link Ads as soon as you hit Google PR4 as long as if you have a decent enough looking site.

Not sure if I can qualify for TLA yet as someone mentioned you need a

Indeed, as Darren said, I’m not a big earner, smallish blog, personal blog on top of that, and TLA is the biggest income generator. Purrty nice.
Also, the links don’t take as much space as adsens, for example.

I am not sure what you are talking about. I use blogger and also have been using TLA for almost 6 months. I think you meant blogspot websites?

hadn’t seen your post BB – got the news via an email from Patrick from TLA a couple of days back saying that it was coming out over the holidays. Sorry mate but I’ve got a few thousand unread items in my news aggregator to catch up on from the holidays as I’ve been in ‘lite blogging’ mode this week.

Yup, they contacted me, have ads sold, but still don’t support Blogger FTP accounts, only those that use the Layout function. Kind of strange since I’d think most of the larger blog sites use FTP to maintain their own hosting.

I applied for TLA about two months ago. Got approved, installed the ad code in my blogspot blog and was told to wait a few days for my site to get listed in the inventory. It’s been around two months now and my site still isn’t in the inventory. I’ve contacted TLA support and was told it would be listed in the market place soon, but it still isn’t listed. I tried contacting them again and haven’t been getting any response anymore. I read from somewhere that they have some sort of backlog of sites to list in the marketplace but I’m not sure if it’s just hearsay. Is there anyone else out there on the TLA publishers program who’s been waiting months to get listed in the TLA marketplace?

We are on Wordpress – but we haven’t used TLA yet.
We are just trying to figure out who to go with. We have been so busy building our blog, we haven’t spent enough time looking into which ad companies to use. I must admit – the whole subject overwhelms me!

Great news!
But I don’t think my blog will qualify for that. I think TLA needs certain amount of traffic to your site in order to qualify for their ads.
But I always loved their ads. I wish I could do something like that in my blog.

I heard that Google doesn’t like text-link-ads and that it’ll end up bringing down your page rank.
Is this true?

Yes Google do NOT like any buying or selling of text links. I have recently applied to TLA, got approved for my PR3 website (not blog btw), installed the code, and got ads sold. The ad sold was very low quality website with nothing much in the body page. How on earth TLA could accept such low quality sites. Also Google is always on the watch out for any website/blogs used to sell link ads and penalise them. Im not going to hurt my SERP for the benefit of a few text link ads on my website obviously. Tried contacting TLA again to make their ads a NoFollow link (meaning no Search Engine juice for the ad) which I guess will be a smile on Google Bot. Yet to receive a reply from TLA.
