My astore doesn't get a lot of traffic, and therefore does not get many sales. Though the other day I commented in an amazon sellers forum about a weird thing I spotted on the amazon uk site, by providing a link to it I generated over a dozen sales that day!
It was certainly the strangest thing I'd ever seen on amazon and with a hefty price tag too! check it out yourselves - <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000NP82RU?ie=UTF8&tag=wwwthebookgar-21&linkCode=as2&camp=1634&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B000NP82RU" rel="nofollow">metalgnu</a> How it got in the kitchen and homewares category i'm not really sure though!

How I won: I commented on his post What’s the Weirdest Thing You’ve Sold on Amazon? It was just a random thing that I happened to know the answer, Aura Cacia Peppermint Oil.
I have a music-focused site that primarily generates music-related sales, specific to Frank Sinatra. Recently, however, I noticed that due to the Christmas season people are buying a much wider variety of items. The one item of note was an X-rated female product that required batteries.... It wasn't until that moment that I realized Amazon even sold those items. Now I realize: they sell EVERYTHING.

You know, I have an Amazon Associate account set up, and even though I get about 1000 visitors a day to my tech blog, I get virtually 0 conversion on Amazon stuff. I even set up an integrated aStore on my site:

http://technabob.com/blog/shop/

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I do quite well with my CTR on Google and Chitika ads, but I never have had much success with Amazon (I tried their Omakase links, and got a decent number of clicks but no conversion).

Ha!! I do get the oddest things too, I'm wondering how someone coming to read a parenting blog would end up buying Lilly Industries 2407 12-Ounce Paint Remover, for example ;). I wonder if people do it just to mess with our minds? ;)

When I think about Compost, the first thing that pops into my head is Clotted Cream so I completely understand. :)

I sell more books than anything else on Amazon, and one of the weirdest books I've sold on Amazon was something I actually promoted:

<a href="http://www.homelandstupidity.us/2006/11/11/the-dog-dialed-911/" rel="nofollow">The Dog Dialed 911</a>

A few odd titles (that I have never heard of!):

World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
Scrooge Meets Dick and Jane
My Tank Is Fight!
