Speedlinking – 10 December 2006

Posted By Darren Rowse 10th of December 2006 Pro Blogging News 0 Comments
  • Kevin reflects on 9 keys to networking via blogs for introverts (bouncing off Rob May’s How to Network: For Introverts) something I think I need to read as the king of introverts!
  • Leon asks What is SpeedLinking? and tries to come up with a definition of it, looks at who does it and asks if it can be a dangerous practice?
  • Gary writes a post on copywriting and suggests that Every Ad Copy Rule can be Broken – reminds me of a discussion I’ve been having on a photographic forum about how every photographic rule can be broken with great effect also but that it’s good to know the ‘rules’ so that you can break them ‘well’.
  • Dave Taylor picks up the old debate of how personal should a blog get?
  • Jeremy from Shoemoney has posted a video of a presentation he did on contextual advertising which is an interesting watch. He talks of ‘when to end AdSense’ (when others are willing to pay enough for exclusivity…) I always like seeing bloggers on video – takes them into a new dimension of communication.
  • Eric asks Do you have time to be an Internet Marketer?

  1. Cool links thanx a lot!

  2. If you’re an introvert Darren, long live blogs. ;)

  3. Also, linkblogging is a great way to pass traffic around if you are doing linktrades with other blogs. You will get traffic back as well as expose your readers to new sites.

  4. Haha, I’m mentioned on the “Speedlinking” article.

  5. Thanks Darren for these info. I love the all the help your blog provides, excellent!

  6. That is a great roundup of articles. Thanks.

  7. Interesting how there is so much material on linking in the last week. Must be a PR update bot just around the corner!

  8. Hi Darren,

I enjoyed the ‘DO YOU HAVE THE TIME’ article the most as I can relate to it at this point. At this early time in my blogging life I only wish that I had more time to give, but I don’t.

I’m looking forward with a positive attitude though – in hopes that one day I can devote more time to something I do enjoy (blogging).

Thank You for the articles : )

  9. That little “Every Rule can be Broken” is a rule that comes up time and again in my own primary profession (book editor), and it’s no doubt applicable to every field of expertise. Glad you mentioned the huge *caveat* attached, and we should all have this tattooed on our foreheads – that one must know and understand the rules in order to be able to break them effectively! Otherwise, it’s all just a sloppy effort.

  10. […] Thanks also to problogger for speedlinking to it!  The introvert networking for bloggers version can be found at lexblog. […]

  11. Darren,
Thanks for the mention. You made my day :-)

You have a great site and I read it several times a day with my RSS reader, Quick News, on my Treo 650. I am constantly learning new things from you and your readers to enhance my blog. Thank you.

I also enjoyed the article on Introvert Networking. I starting using Linkedin to network with friends, colleagues, co-workers, clients, partners, and classmates. Its also a great way to network for Introverts. Maybe I will integrate linkedin with my blog.

  12. Thx for the links. Headed off to read two of the pieces, which are perfect for me right now. (introvert)
