Man, I have seen some really bad “About me” pages out there. Where they tell you absolutely nothing except a whole lot of their philosophy or something that’s not even interesting. Some people are just plain boring, and others are over-funny to the point that it actually makes no sense why you’re there (and, you move on). The latter are not funny as much as they’re just random. Random blogging is for random readers – people who won’t really come back to read anything. Those that do are like such a small demographic.

Even though this wasn’t a big checklist, my “about me” page probably doesn’t cover #3 quite as well as it should. I need to spend more time on how I can adress the problems & goals of others. Thanks!

Thanks for this article. I got to admit that writing an about page is a little harder than it seems. Content wise, you’re not writing all too much, most likely a bit shorter than an average blog post. But you’re thinking “well should I say this or that, and should I word it like this or that.”

To those that are still developing their about pages, I think time will take its course. I hadn’t touch mine since launching the site, but after reading this post – and having time pass by, I know what I wanted my readers to see.

IMHO, the third party can be a little strange, but do whats comfortable and suits your style.

For those that are curious, here is mine that I just modified after reading this helpful post.

The purpose of my blog is just my rants and opinions. So the blog is obviously narcissistic enough and the whole About Me was another soapbox for me to do back flips on. I zapped the initial thousand words down to about ten and it comes off slightly less self-important.

I thought this was very helpful for someone that has figured out a purpose for their blog. I have yet to find that for my blog so it would be interesting how you would go about writing an About Me page for some like me who is still trying to figure out his niche.

Actually when I was making my website and blog, I was really confused what to write in the page titled about me. I wrote more than ten pages but never felt satisfied. Even now I don’t have an about me page on my website.

But I like the straight forward approach that you proposed and trying to write a new one on my website.

Well, I thing Longer Doesn’t mean it is better, I mean, We have to compress the About Me page. Short and Simple. Right?

And, Picture of the blog author is also very important.

I have no problem with the about me pages, i love talking about myself.
