This is also a great tool to use if you'll be going away on a business trip or vacation for an extended period of time (like I will next week), stock up on posts for the duration of the trip and your blog will keep working for you, while you're gone :D

This is a stellar idea.

I do this all the time. It helps me clear my mind from the constant "I could blog this" thoughts to know that I already have content coming up.

This is a good idea. I am usually so excited that I wrote a post, that I just want to publish it. I am going to try this. Thanks for the tip.

I started doing this as well about a month ago. I usually write about 5-6 feature articles during the weekend and save them for the following week in addition to the simple articles written daily.

I also keep 2-3 extras in reserve in case of writers block or laziness.

This is a great tip and one that we use. However, it seems like you run the risk of missing out on higher/more search hits from google. More content means more people finding your site through a google search. If you wait to publish, you could miss out.

I totally agree, I just started doing this. It's hard sometimes to do it, especially if I'm excited about a post and just want to show it now, but it's much better to write 2 posts at once and spread them out over a few days rather than post them both at once then not have any new content for a few days. Excellent advice. And if you come up with a solution for the gym, let me know, I'm having that problem too =P

I use this technique all the time. Yesterday I wrote 11 posts and another 18 today. Most of them were on a series I am doing. The outlines were written several months ago which helped a great deal. They are set to appear from mid December and on through January when I know I will be extremely busy. These are not time related and could appear anytime.

Hello,

I´m having a little problem with your feeds and bloglines. I´m receiving the same previous posts update, even if I´ve already read it!!
I´ve contacted bloglines, and it seems to have a differente system of feed. I was having the same problem with another blog from Brazil, so I´ve allerted him, and he discovered that it may be caused by some of the feed advertising system.
Do you knew it?

Kind regards,

Diego

It's a good tip but harder to pull off if you're writing time-sensitive stuff like tech news. Works well for areas that aren't so topical.

Aha! I like that. I do that sometimes. Especially when I know that I'll be busy (or lazy) on the weekends.

I absolutely agree about the gym thing. *sigh*
