Ten Tips for Becoming a Top Digg User
Marketallica has an interesting article by a top 100 Digg user who shares his tips for being successful on Digg (as a user). The english isn’t great (but then again neither is mine at times) but the tips give insight into Digg userland.
1. Recognize Big Stories
2. Track Pulse of Internet
3. Interesting Headlines
4. Humanized Story Description
5. Trackback Your Submission
6. Comment First
7. Timing
8. Make Friends
9. Digg Your Friends News:
10. Finally, Enjoy
While not exactly the same I’m interested to see that similar principles apply to becoming a top blogger (for example his tip on headlines, humanizing stories, timing, making friends etc).

The making friends thing is a big one for bloggers, I’ve noticed a significant increase in traffic since “spreading the link love” around.

Headlines are a huge factor, recent reports show old news coming up to frontpages with new headlines that are catchy.

From the link:
“If you look at Top user screen and sort them by dugg stories you see that some of diggers dugg more than 10000 story”
Ayup. And how many of those did they really READ (http://aplawrence.com/Opinion/digg_lessons.html) ?
And then: “Tip: Try to be the first commenter for your stories.”
I’m sure THAT adds to careful reading..

I’m glad to have discovered ProBlogger, and look forward to using it to enhance my internship work with Ed Mills of Evolving Times.com
His theme is Law of Attraction, which I recognize all the time in my daily life. This is one of those times as I realize that I’ve attracted ProBlogger as a resource I will continue to learn about.
By the way, I’m almost 65, and the internet is a passion. I’ve been involved with it since 1994, when I co-created with Dane Christianson’s team, the first internet learning center in San Francisco, and named it MentorNet.
Thanks for your informative site!
