Aww, I wasn't sent it. I've been thinking about wishing to choose advertisers better, because a lot of handbag advertisers are knockoff sellers. A reader of a friends' blog started a discussion from a complaint on this.

People can think we endorse the ads, apparently, so I've just been pondering the issue. Does being a handbag blogger mean we're shady, too? I'm off topic now, though. :-)

Control over the categories of Ads and the advertisers would be wonderful.
I would also like to see interstitial keyword ads that where I can choose the keywords.
And of course a WP plugin to manages it all.

I think they missed out on two of the more desirable improvements to the current program.

First is the perennial problem of ads that have no relation whatsover to the content of the site. My website for example, offers news and comment affairs commentary and analysis. I have been unpleasantly astonished to see ads for Tibetan mysticism, New Age potions and all manner of spiritual thingamabobs. Publishers should be able to intervene somehow when off-theme ads appear- not least because if such ads have no appeal to your audience, you are losing money by displaying them.

Secondly, I think those text-only ads are mighty old-fashioned and ugly. My site has both AdSense and Amazon ads. Alas the Amazon ads yield very little. But the combination of text descriptions and colorful thumbnails makes them so much more visually appealing than the bland AdSense ads on the same page (see the contrast on the sidebar of http://www.amusis.com). These mixed text-and-graphic ads should be added to the current menu of text only, image only or video.

>>Managing other publishers’ AdSense accounts for them

That's the one I found most interesting, because it makes me wonder where they're going with that.

Yessssss, I want to be able to choose advertisers and/or choose categories!!

I don't think there's that many ads available in my 'niche', but I'd sometimes rather have none than ads about hotels, las vegas and rss feeds (I blog about events in Perth, Aus, mainly for people living here!)
I don't even mention hotels in any of my posts, but still they are the ads I get most!
I blogged about Cirque Soleil coming to Perth in 2007(!!) a week or so ago, and still now half the ads on the site are about Cirque, and a lot of them relate to their shows in Vegas, now use whatsoever!!

Anyway, that's my rant for the day!! :D

Simone

p.s. I didn't get the survey, what a shame! I love surveys :D

I'd love to be able to choose advertisers. I'd especially like to be able to get all the fat-burner, lose weight quick ads off of my tea site, regardless of whether they might be good money makers.

Paying for AdWords out of AdSense would be really useful for me -- on a small budget, it's a great way to alleviate cash flow when you can just transfer the money over.

1.- Gathering information about your visitors

2.- Allow advertisers to see how their ads perform specifically on your site
