I’ve ended last week’s poll of the week and have put up a new one. This one is to test a theory that I’m working on. I’m not going to tell you what it is until later in the week once I see some of the results coming in.
The question simply is – ‘are you male or female?’
With regards to the last poll – I’ll give you the full results of it early next week. Thanks to the 1500 or so people who voted – the results were fascinating.

About the sociolinguistics professor, her name is Deborah Tannen. In case anyone else wants to read her books (which are extremely popular and which I highly recommend). Darren, do you think the demographics of probloggers are changing, swinging toward female? Your site is pretty, um, male-design heavy, for lack of a better phrase. I found it and stuck here, but your site is not very visually appealing to a female, and I have to agree with Pat Gundry up there about the environment being a non-friendly place for women to assert themselves. Perhaps your site isn’t the best indicator of global professional blogging. However, from polls and surveys I’ve seen, problogger demographics are starting to tilt in favor of females and personal blogs, who a few years ago were in the obvious minority. Do you see the same results from your blog?
