Pheedo’s RSS Ads System Launches

Speaking of RSS ads, Pheedo has been testing their ad service for the past couple of months and are launching this week according to Mark at Weblog Tools Collection. Mark writes that it’s a system for WordPress ads but I can’t see on Pheedo anywhere saying it is exclusively a WP offering.

I also can’t see any official announcement of them coming out of beta yet at Pheedo or on their blog but their registration page is up and running so it seems there is nothing to hold bloggers back from applying.

For those wanting to sign up you might also like to check out their information page for publishers where they outline two ad solutions, ‘Ads for Feeds’ and ‘Ads for Feeds+’. Also check out their Publisher FAQ and Terms of Service.

A few quick tidbits on Pheedo’s system:

  • Publishers take 65% of revenue generated
  • The signup process takes 1 to 2 days
  • Payment is via PayPal or check
  • Payments are made once your balance is over $50
  • Payments are made 60 days after the end of the month you earn from ads
  • Their TOS says it is a CPC (cost per click) system – however their PDF information pages talk of CPM (impression based) systems also
  • Both ad solutions have statistics systems to moniter performance
  • Their TOS and Registration page indicate you need a US Tax ID (but the comments on Weblogs Tool Collection indicate you can contact them to get around this if you’re not based in the US).

If you’ve been one of the beta testers of Pheedo’s Ads I’d love to hear from you. Write a review (long or short) of your experience with it and I’ll publish it on ProBlogger (with links back to your blog) if you’d like.

  1. I will for sure go check this one out. Thanks for the heads up!

  2. Steve Johnson says:

The reason you don’t see anything new about it is it’s the same thing they’ve been running for months. But Feedburner announced a new product yesterday and Pheedo’s got to make sure they get some publicity too.

  3. Ian says:

How would running Pheedo or Feedsense RSS ads affect your Adsense account?

I assume as they’re not sharing space on the same page it won’t be an issue. My inclination is to keep waiting for Googles RSS ads to come out of beta (any hints on when that might be?) though a little phrase about eggs and “one basket” keeps popping into my head.

Thanks for mentioning our new product, Darren.

Ads for Feeds is a new product to make receiving RSS Analytics and Ads easy. Through a simple cut & paste code. It provides select analytics without having to redirect your feed. Publisher can keep their URL.

Our original products, Ads for Feeds+ provides you with deep analytics and more ad options and has been around for about 2 years.

To Steve’s point above, this is a new product. We have been putting ads in feeds for some time now. The Ads for Feeds product makes it easy for anyone to get select analytics on feeds without redirecting their feed URLs.

It comes out of the box working with WordPress, MovableType and Typepad Pro. We can create custom solutions for other content management solutions as needed. It sits on top of any third party feed management system.

If you have any additional questions, please contact me.

  5. This is a great deal of free information but iim not old enough to use any of these programs yet that why i have created my website for people of all ages give good idea’s if you 10 and older. I like the idea and will check adsense and chikita mini malls out in a few years if they are still around (Hopefuly and if I live through bird flu lol).

  6. DTN says:

I didn’t like the Pheedo ads. They didn’t have any ads relevant to my site, and the amount of “clicks” kept diminishing. I was told they were determined to be spam and not real clicks. It’s rather frustrating to see money in your account, and then have it gone a little while later because Pheedo determined the clicks weren’t worthwhile.

  7. Bill Flitter says:

DTN, sorry you had the experience. Click fraud as you know is a big issue. We need to deliver value to both advertisers and publishers. Sometimes, we notice the crafty bots get through our system and we need to clean the reports to deliver value and repeat business for our advertisers. We are continuelly improving this process.
