ProBlogger Chat Session - Next Thursday Morning
The response to yesterday’s question about whether people would be interested in a ProBlogger Chat session via Campfire was positive so I think we’ll give it a go next week.
I need to tie down a time but I think I’ll make it early on a Thursday morning (maybe around 8.30 am) Melbourne time which will make it about 4.30pm on Wednesday in New York and if my calculations are correct about 9.30pm on Wednesday in London (hopefully you can calculate your own time from that). I’ll confirm it as we get closer - but pencil it in your diary.
It’ll be nice to ‘meet’ some of you in a different medium!

Hopefully I will be able to attend, the timing seems pretty good, just depends what else I am doing that day!

what is campfire?
1. Campfire is software made by 37 signals that lets you chat in your browser instead of with an IM client
2. You can use your name. The field says “name” not “subject line”
3. If you don’t have a web site, leave the field blank. The ABC network gets enough traffic, they don’t need random links in the problogger comment section.
If you’ve never been taught how to use comment sections, now you know

We’ll see. I’m still at Work at that point but it’s late enough in the day I might slip out a bit early.

Is Melbourne time the same as Tokyo time?
I’ll be there!

I have used this site for years, for both business and personal meeting arrangements. They have a cute meeting planner that let’s you add in up to 4 time zones aside from your own and see tables that show the equivalent times in each location. Many of us haven’t yet learned to think globally, this is a great education tool.

I wish it were a bit later in the day. I understand that you want the Euro crowd, but 4:30 in New York, leaves the rest of us at work…and you know we’d never chat at work ;)

hehe - looks like an interesting group might be there.
We’ll see how it goes I guess.
Perhaps we’ll make the first one a fairly open time of just chatting, getting to know each other etc.
But if it works well future ones might be on a particular topic - ie we could do one on SEO, another on WP plugins, another critiqing casestudies etc.
Loren - Melbourne is GMT +10…. not sure what Tokyo is?

Hmmm, sounds interesting - I’ll try to make it.
4:30 PM - that gives me a choice of coffee OR beer :)

Well it’s 08:42 am Melbourne time on Thursday and there’s been no further posts .. I guess the chat was postponed or canceled?
I went to the camfirenow site and their concern for privacy is admirable .. no way to find chats that may already be in progress. great for something like an email program, but really sort of defeats the purpose of having a separate room for chats … or so it seems to me

My apologies Dave - last night I came down with a nasty flu which left me feeling rather miserable and quite forgetful so I didn’t set my alarm and slept through the chat session.
I’ll set up another one in the coming week once I’m feeling a bit better.
