Six Figure Blogging to Attend Blog Cruise

Posted By Darren Rowse 1st of February 2006 Pro Blogging News 0 Comments

Blogonomics-Affiliate-250X80Well it’s official – I’m now one of the presenters on the Blogonomics Blog Cruise (my page is yet to go up on the presenters list but trust me – barring unforeseeable circumstances I’ll be there – update – it’s up now – although they must not have like my picture – will have to send them a non nude one).

In fact Andy and I will be presenting a condensed version of the Six Figure Blogging course as a 3 hour intense workshop (at no extra cost on the cruise). Of course the cruise does go for 4 days and the ship is only so big (I can’t stay in my cabin the whole time) so the 3 hour workshop is only the starting point for plenty of other great conversations I guess.

There is also talk of me doing another shorter session on SEO and Magnetization of Blogs (yet to be confirmed).

Coming? Help me pay for my airfare? – of course getting to Fort Lauderdale means I’m going to be incurring some expenses (flights are not cheap these days from Australia) so if you’re planning on attending there is a way you can help out a bit (without spending any extra money) by simply letting the organizers of the cruise know I referred you to the cruise in your sign up process. Doing so will earn me a small amount to go towards my costs.

You can do this as follows:

When a person registers for the Blogonomics Blog Cruise they are requested to enter the website that referred them. Simple add www.problogger.net. Also in the entry for “Registrant Code” your need to insert the code “problogger”.

I’m very very excited about this opportunity. Both to actually do some live presenting on blogging but also to meet those that I know are already coming (starting with the speaker list – but going beyond that to some of the regular readers of this blog).

Lastly if you’re a company that has a product that relates to blogging I’d love to talk to you about a sponsorship of our session on the cruise. There are numerous ways you can sponsor the cruise and the many sessions that it will have but particularly Andy and I are looking for someone to sponsor our workshop on Six Figure Blogging. There is more information on sponsorship on the cruise sponsorship page.

  1. Glad your attending. I think that I will too…

  2. Ya’ never know…I just might make it…

  3. […] Update: Looks like Darren Rowse will be attending after all. My goating must have worked […]

  4. Utterly outstanding. My jealously knows no bounds! Now we need to think about that Williamstown thing as a Melb version ;)

  5. I would like to make it, but I’m over here on the otherside of the pond. *waves* Anyone else blog in html like me? or is that just stupid not to use a blogging program?

  6. You mean they’re not paying their speakers at least expenses? Whoa!!! That’s mean. And yes, that is a genuine comment.

  7. Welcome aboard Darren! Can’t wait to meet you in person mate!

  8. Andy, they’re covering the cost of the cruise, so they’re out of pocket about 1200$ already. As a speaker, that’s enough for me.

  9. Yep – cruise is covered but the airfares from Aus are more than getting to the UK :-)

  10. this is brilliant, you can now use a cruise as a tax deduction. Jeremy, they aren’t really out of pocket $1200, they are making something off the cruise, and that itinerary usually runs about $500-700 per person (i’ve been on similar before).

  11. Brian: Royal Carribean is charging Blogonomics about 1000$ per speaker. And, when speakers get the cruise for free for them and their wives… Well, it’s actually quite a bit more than 1200$ by my count.

My point was that while speakers are covering travel to the cruise itself, we’re getting a fair amount of value in return. This is the only conference where I’d pay my own travel though :)

  12. I cannot wait to PAR-TAY. Wheee! HELL YEAH!

  13. […] It looks like Darren Rowse will be joining the Blogonomics Blog Cruise 2006 (see website). He will be doing a condensed version of his Six Figure Blogging Course as a 3 hour intense workshop for no extra cost, than the cost of the cruise. […]

  14. Darren,
I think its worth a trip for you, even i fyou have to get some out of your pocket.
I think the return from this cruise will be good for you and problogger in general.

I wish I could make it, coz I used to live in Miami and would have been closer.
May be I can attend Chicago(if you arestill planning).

  15. I agree Internet Sales – if we have to cover expenses out of pocket it is something we’ll do. On the other hand any offsetting of costs will be handy.

In terms of Chicago – I’m not sure we’ll do that now that we are running the course on the cruise. I am toying with the idea of some extra time on one or both sides of the cruise though to perhaps do a little consulting if I can work that out.

  16. I won’t be able to attend, but I would love to know how it turns out. I’m sure you’re gonna update us on that Darren :)

  17. Thanks for the info! nice entry!
