Darren,
I for one would love to know how you extracted your affiliate sales data from Amazon Associates, etc. and brought it into Keynote. I'm not a Mac owner, but the extraction part would be very interesting!

I tend to agree with Ozh that different types of blog have different earnings, with consumer-based being best and webmaster related the lowest. I say this from experience because out of almost 20 websites, http://www.larrylim.net has the lowest earnings.

It could be that because webmasters understand the mechanics of pay-per-click, they "subconciously" avoid clicking on the ads.

Nick: Chitika was doing fine until they started "filtering" and "auditing" clicks. Many webmasters have been pissed off but I personally like the fact that I could specify keywords. It makes building sites like http://www.techgiftguide.com possible.

The graph that would interest me would be, not income by advertising platform (adsense, chitika etc...) but by blog type. I think people always think you earn gazillions from problogger.net and forget you run many other consumer focused blogs. I'd say that problogger is your revenue source #1 for Chitika thanks to referrals, but it must be abysmally performing with adsense compared to your other sites.

I think Thomas has under estimated it. Putting together the data in the link in the first paragraph of this post with the graph I'd estimate it's closer to $40,000 per month.

Add to that six figure blogging and B5 Media and it could be as much as $50,000 per month.

Someone told me he has a book deal coming also and has more courses on the way so it looks like Darren might be someone to chat with about a loan.

Darren,

I like your graph, but it will help us a great deal if we can get an idea how your revenue has grown over the time period stated above. Plus, it really does give us a great deal of hope and encouragement to see that certain income levels are attainable for probloggers. If Thomas' $35k estimate is right, then I must say that you have done tremendously well for yourself. Keep up the good work.

One of the thing that ticks me off about Chitika eMiniMalls is that the text display simply does not work (i.e. looks like sh*t), at least in Firefox. Sometimes I can only see half the text. So until they straighten this up, and since half my traffic comes from Firefox users anyway...

ombak: Just guessing, but I'd bet he doesn't really care. It's still getting 700 hits a day and probably some ad money, I don't think the point of leaving it up was for people to really read

Hi Darren,

I'm not sure whether this is the best place for me to inform it you.

Still remember your Olympic site (http://www.livingroom.org.au/olympics/)?
Anyway I just visited this site for some info regarding sports, but there is something wrong with it. All the content was "screwed up".
Maybe the code was missing somewhere.

Looks like most of the increase of your income came thanks to the launch of Chitika.

I've made some calculations and it looks like you're close to 35k/month (or more), if my calculations are correct ;-) Nice!

My earnings' graph would look a lot like yours, except that the numbers going down the left-hand axis probably wouldn't have quite so many decimals :)

If I may ask, what software do you use to make the graphs you post on this site? I've been consistently impressed by them.
