Lessons about Blogging

My recent 18 Lessons I’ve Learnt about Blogging post has been the hottest post on ProBlogger by far this month. I’m always amazed by how people love a good list and will link up to it.

One thing that I mentioned in the original post though was that I’d love to read other people’s ‘lessons’ in blogging. It might not be a list of 18 lessons but either leave a comment on the other post or write something on your own blog and leave a comment alerting us to it.

Update: and if you liked the post – bookmark it on It’s in the popular list but I’d love to see it climb!

    “…people love a good list”

They sure do. Yesterday was the first time I ever posted any kind of list on Subnixus. It has already brought in about 20,000 visitors today from a good digg listing (over 1000 diggs).

It’s not only the fact that it was a list, which probably played favourably in the fact it was popular, but it had also a lot of good general information, all gathered at the same place. It’s a good summing up of all things blog.

    Good job. Now, more. hehehe

    Hey Darren,

Hope things are well with you, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Have you always had the ‘post to’ link on your posts?

    I haven’t noticed this before.

Has it been bringing other measurable results?

    Many thanks,

    Hone Watson

It’s a plugin I’ve experimented with now for a few weeks. It’s hard to measure the results as I’ve regularly been picked up on over the past few months without it and continue to have it now. Difficult to tell but it could be helping.

It’s a great post. It’s good to have dreams but it’s also good to keep feet on the ground too.
I did a post about how to avoid frustration, specially when you are starting out, but it’s in spanish for now :( . Anyway, bookmarked!

  6. It was the photos that made it such a good list! I loved it – thanks.
