Amazon earnings up 100%

Just logged into my Amazon Affiliate program account (which I reviewed here to check the daily stats and it looks like December is going to be a bumper month with a lot of Christmas shopping going on. While it doesn’t come close to comparing to other income streams earnings on my account are up from around $10 per day to over $60 per day.

It looks like all the deep linking I did within posts (see point 4 here) a couple of months ago is paying off. It’s a time consuming thing but well worth the effort. Earnings are up by just under 100% for the same period last year.

Of course all it needs is for a $2000 camera to be sold and the daily earnings can be up as much as $150.

How are others going with their affiliate programs in the lead up to Christmas?

Congrats, Darren. $150 a day. I would love to see that kind of figure, even if only for a single month. Still have a couple of weeks for those last minute mad-dashes. Hope those figures continue rising for you.

  2. Heh, Vic, I’d love to see that for a single day.

I am shocked. Yesterday I logged in again after a few month and I saw some earnings. I didn’t expect anything so I’m very glad. But “only” just some cents a day.

I hardly use Amazon affiliate links at all, and yet I’m showing 4 new orders (which haven’t shipped yet). And for things I didn’t even think would BE on Amazon, like old Army field manuals. I think it’s time for me to add in a few more links…

  5. Victor says:

Hey Blaine, if you do that, please remember me. I’ll need to pick your brain then. ;)

Welcome to December shopping…be prepared for the crazy January dropoff.

  7. Darren Rowse says:

yeah – January sucked for me last year. Partly because it just does but partly because Google decided to re-index and I had a very low six weeks.

Having said that – I know one blogger who does amazingly in january because of the online sales.

    Why..cant..I..be..you!!!

  9. I was sooooo pissed off at Amazon recently (click link on my name) because of the amazon.com versus amazon.ca … I don’t earn much but I definately lost something … But, I just checked my affiliate account – and apparently I just received 4% commission on a sale of a “Briggs & Stratton Power Products Model 9801 10,000 Watt Portable Generator” — $79.96 woohoo! Now, that’s going to bring up my 6-month average of $0.78/month

  10. Bill Peschel says:

I had the account for a couple of years, but only recently did I resume active blogging and provide links from my book reviews. Result: higher CTR, and one sale for a couple of bucks. Not much, but even a low-traffic site like mine has benefitted.

    Hi Darren ,

This is my first visit to your blog….awsome stuff…gr8 going man …..i m running chitika and google ads on my site ..but havnt tried amazon yet

  12. colbert says:

yea..I am getting some sales too…this is a great month

  13. I am not to happy with my Amazon revenue. Last summer I created a few Amazon stores and although intially there was a fair amount of traffic I am now not really seeing any bump in my sales during November or December.

It looks like the days of having a generic Amazon store that makes money is long gone.

One thing that I am doing more and more is to create individual blog entries individual Amazon products with the help of the amazon tool so that I can have a hyperlinked picture as well as good links to the product itself. I need to get more posts up using this method but it seems both targeted and time effective.

I’ve just tried to join amazon.com associates, but I see they only pay direct deposits to US bank accounts. Any tips on how to get round this for me as a UK resident please? Thanks, Andrew

  15. Darren Rowse says:

no direct debits to non US accounts. They send me a cheque in US$ every quarter – works fine for me.

  16. George says:

Anyone showing items bought but not ship yet? And is it normal even after almost 2 months?

  17. John Doe says:

So.. congratulation be the winner of affiliates by the end of 2005. I’m just add amazon books in my Affiliate site.

  18. Generators says:

When did Amazon start selling generators ? Andrew, just open a US bank account and get a debit card if you dont want the paper checks ; )

  19. Miho says:

I need to research more about amazon associate.
