Guess the Google Adsense Present and Win a Prize!
Talk has started in Adsense forums about whether Google will be sending presents to publishers this year.
Last year they sent publishers (earning over a certain undisclosed amount) a ‘Google Glow Radio‘ like the one’s in the picture (left). Mine lasted on my desk a few weeks before I dropped it (quite literally) and it stopped both glowing and functioning as a radio.
The included batteries were useful though as they powered our TV remote for a few months.
I wonder what they’ll send (if anything) this year!?
Let’s run a competition to guess this year’s present.
I’ll send a cracked, un-functioning Google Glow Radio (batteries not included) to anyone who can guess (in the next 48 hours) what this year’s present will be. First one to get it gets the prize.
PS: I’ll only send it if I can find it. Warning: we moved house this year….

Considering that other advertising programs like YPN and Chitika are luring adsense publishers, I think Google will be sending a better present this year.

How about an invitation to one of the google campuses.

Hmm, lets see, its going to have to be something good, make publishers feel good, and be slightly oddball. I’d guess at something like a google branded mp3 player, or podcast player.
I guess the undiclosed sum is larger than $3.54, so I guess I’ll have to wait until next year to get my hands on a mystery gift….

My guess maybe would be a …. GoogleMap Pro Software with 1 year subcriptions free…. hehe thats my 1st guess… my 2nd guess… Google would send you a AirTicket fare to climb on board their Google AirPlane a round trip to any where you wish to go.
Merry XMas to every Google Publisher.. sad that i am not one of them…

Ezinearticles.com sent me a mug and some coffee, presumably so I’ll stay up longer to write and submit more articles to them (I’ve submitted over 130 so far).
I think coffee or tea would be an appropriate gift from Google to encourage bloggers to write more and sleep less.

I think they give you fuzzy Google balls to hang on your rearview mirror (of your car that Google bought) :)

I’d guess another low-level electronics device — radio, CD/MP3 player, etc.
And I’m hoping for Christmas they give me my account back! ;)

I am sure it will be better. with a stock price of $415+ it should be better.
I think it will be two things. A nice box of chocolates, and something else. hm…
For people like you Darren possibly a nice bottle of wine, or course some may frown on that so who knows.
I am sure it will be nice.

Adwords publishers got a keychain USB drive last year, I would have gladly traded my glowy cube for a google branded usb drive. hopefully it will be something useful.

My guess - a Google Infoglobe. http://www.googlestore.com/product.asp?catid=2&code=GO0120
My wish - 1 Page Rank increment to be applied to any site of your choice.
Darren, what were you making monthly last year? I know I’m not anywhere near the $2-3,000/month level that was mentioned in last years post, but I’m crossing my fingers that they’ll send something to me anyway.

This might seem as a wild guess ;-)
Google Accesories Bag - colored - which contains:
a USB wireless mouse - tiny one for laptops
4 ports USB hub
USB light / lamp
USB memory stick - 128 Mb
Headphone with microphone on the cable - like those for cell phones - probably meant for using Google Talk
(plus cables and charger for what it si needed)

Hmm, Stefan’s guess sounds suspiciously like what this guy got over at the Digital Point forums.

Stefan’s guess is suspiciously similar to the one I just received too. :)
Very cool! I never made enough to qualify for a Google present before. I would have preferred a PR8, but this is almost as good.

The mouse is optical, the batteries are Ni-MH rechargeable, and I’m using it right now. I didn’t get last year’s present, so: thanks, Google!

Hi Guys
I actually got mine yesterday (22/12/05) i am UK based so it came as a complete supprise - as with all good toys, took it home and now my 4 year old is able to use the pc a bit easier - standard mouse is a bit big. i am happy with it but the memory stick could of been a bit bigger. Do not know about you guys but spent about $20k in your money so not actually a great gift really as it has made in china on it.
All the best for christmas
Darren
