Engadget Labs is Coming (and ProBlogger Labs is here!)

Posted By Darren Rowse 30th of September 2005 Blog Networks 22

I’ve long fantasized about having a blog HQ where I could blog from – with space for designers, writers, reviewers and for me to sit back in a spa sipping champagne watching it all – so when Niall Kennedy reported that Weblogs Inc is launching Engadget Labs I got really jealous.

‘Editors Peter Rojas and Ryan Block will work out of their new office in New York with possibly a few other members of the Weblogs Inc. network. The new office space will include a special podcasting room for interviews with visiting companies as well as the weekly Engadget podcast.’

Ok – it could just be a spare room or two in someone’s apartment – but knowing the way the Weblogs Inc team does things it will be a step up from that! It certainly sounds cool.

Update: Ok – if Engadget can have Labs – so should ProBlogger! Here they are….

  1. LOL! Good one, Darren. :-)

  2. Oh, and yes, we can all have our own blogging/podcasting HQ, with about creative thinking.

  3. Darren if you need a Sydney branch, my kitchen table is always open to you!

    Andrew

  4. Hey – that looks pretty swank to me – many moons ago I used to broadcast a jazz programme from an FM radio station that had the walls lined with cardboard for noise reduction :)

  5. That’s awesome! Right under ProBlogger Labs, you could write “Your Ad Here”.

  6. Darren,

If you come anywhere near Roanoke, VA, lemme know and I’ll put you up in my basement.

Careful though, I may pull a Cathy Bates on you…

  7. That handwritting is impossibly neat :-)

Feel free to print this picture and attach it to your fancy sign.

  9. I think there’s room for a mini-mall on that window.

  10. Hmmm I wonder if a garden shed would pass muster? Nooo, it doesn’t have a piece of cardboard that size!

  11. Yeah, if you’re ever in the US and need to operate, the Charlotte branch of Problogger labs could be up and running in mere moments. A desk, a couple of computers, printer, phone…. two cats who really make nice fuzzy feet warmers, and a gargoyle pen holder to watch over it all. Oh, and in case you need to do voice conversations, I’m sure the kids will let you use their Nickelodeon microphone as long as you will take their solemn oath not to spit on it or anything.

  12. Darren – you now have a UK office, too! Congratulations!

  13. Name “labs” suggests some kind of professional equipment – for example like equipment to measure radiation of mobile phones. They don’t have it. They’re just big pretenders – to attract more giveaways from vendors… that they get.

  14. Hmmm … what’s behind the door? maybe you are in a spa sipping bubbly ;-)

  15. Too funny, would you mind me including this in my BlogSpaces project? It would be a great addition! http://www.cancer-news-watch.com/2005/09/23/the-blogspaces-project/

  16. Wow, I just went upstairs and noticed that your Santa Fe office is open! I’m surprised the cat hasn’t objected yet.

  17. […] Darren also came out with his own ProBlogger Labs. […]

  18. Why did I think I was going to see a labrador retriever?

  19. Some spice from India to spice up your “lab”

  20. The BlogSpaces Project

Hello, and welcome to the home of the BlogSpaces Project!

On this page you will find behind-the-scenes photos of the personal blogging environments of bloggers from across the globe. With a little luck, this project will provide something of a virtua…

  21. […] If Darren came up with ProBlogger Labs, Abe launched YugaTech™ Labs, Kates has her Oversimplistic Lab and Karla has Rock the Blog Studio, why can’t I also have one? Hehe […]
