I don’t think the colors are as important as the visual “differential” between the previous colors and the current ones. It’d be interesting to measure, though.

The other downside to doing this is that it doesn’t allow you to monitor each different color in a seperate channel. A better option would be to wrap the Adsense code in a PHP (or similiar) script that would randomly rotate them (each having a different channel). This would allow you to monitor the seperate colors and see which one was better.

Give a try on it.
I’ve been using adsense for 3 months. I found that adlink CTR increased but adunit CTR decreased last month. It’s maybe the ad blindness that you mentioned.
