I've been googlechatting all evening. I think it is really supposed to be released later today. Not completely sure.

For an interesting study on human behavior and viral marketing, you should see the resonance this post had on the social bookmarking site, digg.com.

Just reading the comments on that post are useful for insight into the geek-mindset and what it takes to spur them to action. Psychology meets marketing. Fascinating.

FYI, I downloaded the desktop sidebar. That is so big and ugly. I deleted it. I couldn't stand it. I went to firefox's extensions page and got the patch for my adsense extension.

I didn't really start it for grand AdSense profits so that part isn't a big concern. I love tracking Google's rumors and what not. On the night Gmail launched I stayed up way crazy late finding info on it--didn't even have a site to post it on.

If it starts to attract a decent audience I am sure there are other search engine companies that would like to advertise on it (and get their wares in front of all the analysts and what not). If not, I'll still have a blast doing it.

I doubt they would make much money from Adsense as it is! The term "Google" is banned from advertisers to use in ads.

yep - you should be right. Although I think I did see a clause in there once about being critical of Google or something. You should be fine but it'll be interesting how Google treats it if you do get an insider at Google to give you some real goss!

Might be a chance to test out ads from Yahoo... :) But it's not against the TOS as far as I can tell. Cheers.
