If so I recommend you head over to Lorelle’s blog and read What can you do with wordpress.com. Looks like a great service - although perhaps a little further off going live than I thought when I heard about it a couple of days ago.
My name is Darren Rowse and I’m a full time Blogger making a living from this new and dynamic medium from blogs like Digital Photography School.
Back in 2002 I stumbled upon an article about ‘Blogging’. I didn’t know it at the time but that moment changed my life. Since then I've become a full time blogger and have blogged on over 20 blogs and co-founded the b5media blog network.

Talk about being psychic, I linked to this very page too when blogging during my lunch break a few hours ago!
Even though I already host my own blog and have no plans of changing this, I’m also eager to see how the whole WordPress.com venture will turn out. I’m definitely a WP supporter here, and it indeed looks like a great service.

Cool. You can get a free WP blog at Blogsome, too. They have one AdSense block for themselves in your blog (why it’s free for you - you can put your own on there, I presume). Downside? a whatever.blogsome domain name.

I covered the unveiling of WordPress.com at the BBS and also have been a lucky invitee. The feature set is rich and not just in relation to it being a free service. From what I understood, there are no plans to include any ads.
One thing WordPress.com is not, is a competitor to TypePad -at least not as it currently exists. There has been much comparison between the two but I think it is an apples to oranges comparison.

One thing that wordpress.com is, is new. Hot off the presses. Not even ready for prime time. With the amazing talent and creative forces behind WordPress, I expect to see some great things happening with WordPress and WordPressMU.
What I have learned from my involvement with WordPress is to never assume and never underestimate. Stay tuned!

Just to let you know that you can remove the Google ads on Blogsome if you wish. Also one advantage of Blogsome (as well as supporting categories), you can edit your template.

I too own a blogsome blog, but nowhere in their site nor their forum do they say that you can remove the blogsome ad banner on their site.
