Hello,
I’m one of the people on the BlogOn 2005 team – thanks for your post, Darren…and to everyone else for the interest.
Though I agree (of course) that there isn’t a substitute for being there in person, we are looking into ways to make the event content available online for those who can’t make the trip to New York. Please keep an eye on our site – http://www.blogonevent.com – for more details or send a note to me (natalie at guidewiregroup dot com) and I’ll let you know once we finalize our plans.
p.s. We’ve almost wrapped up speaker recruitment, but welcome last-minute ideas…only catch is presenters are asked to get to New York at their own expense. Sorry – nothing personal!! We’ve been lucky that Cameron can join us from Australia!

yes Melbourne to NV is so far away, but listening to someone ’speak’ on something in person is not always the same as reading someone’s writing, if that makes sense.

Andy Merrett, I am just wondering…if you have stopped reading Darren’s stuff, how come you’re leaving a comment here? It just doesn’t make sense. Really you don’t need anyone to convince you why you should read his works, you can’t help but are reading his wonderful works now (like I am hehe).

Darren I really admire you, and am so proud to be in the same faith community as you are….you’re loved by many and are personally a blessing to me! :-)

Sorry I had word blindness – I thought Danger was saying that everyone in blogging reads Nick or Jason’s stuff. Of course I read Darren’s stuff – I don’t know whether he’s iin the ‘A-list’ or not – but he doesn’t come across like some other A-listers (which is a good thing). Apologies for the misinterpretation caused by bad speed reading!

It will take a lot to make me stop reading Darren’s words.

Of course Darren should be on that list, but geez, with todays technology do we really need to be physically present??? Melbourne to NY is not cheap.

It seems like a big event based on the sponsors involved – I wonder if bloggers can virtually attend in some say? Going straight after this comment to the official site to do thorough research on the the whole summit concept.

And no, I’ve not stopped reading his stuff because of the recent arguments – I just don’t read it. If someone can convince me why I should add him to my RSS feed and read his works, I’ll listen :)

Sounds like I’m on a crusade here – I just don’t see why everyone involved in blogging should be reading these people just because they’ve somehow ‘made it’.

No kidding. It was just six months ago that Darren was talking about the ‘big names’ like Calcanis and Denton, but Darren’s practically the top of the A-list now. I can’t imagine anybody in blogging that doesn’t read his stuff.

I’d definitely consider going if you were there Darren.

You should be on that list – I’d go if you were. I’d like to have the chance to hear you talk on the topic of Professional Blogging in person. Maybe we need to start a campaign for one of these conferences to get you doing a keynote address.
