Lei, you can do both. My SYNTAGMA blog is fiercely independent and without advertising. But my Windows Vista blog is aimed at making money. It’s on the point of joining Duncan Riley’s Weblog Empire, where it will find a more synergistic environment and economies of scale.

I’m torn between wanting to stay independent to wanting in on the action! I do think that bloggers for big corporations like Yahoo probably have to toe the corporate line much more carefully.

I don’t like the idea of corporates muscling in on blogging – I’d be inclined to think that most regular bloggers will stay away and stick to the independents. At least I hope so!
