Excellent overall series here Darren. I think you have covered a lot of ground however I do feel their is alot more to cover when it comes to SEO such as the techniques you may use to do link building.

I believe you are right about the bigger the site. I recently tested a datafeed type site and it got search engine traffic from day 1 (almost). On the other hand my blog with quality content but a lot less pages gets zero SE traffic.

Is their no justice in this web world?

I converted my cycling resources page into a blog last March. Today, it’s number 3 in Google SERPs for “bicycle blog.” This in spite of it being only a PR4 and 11 IBLs listed by Google.

You’re not kidding when you mention it takes time. I had a wiki get abused by a spammer a while ago, and now that my PageRank is shot, it’s taking Google ages to come back to my site and re-index it now that I’ve fixed it.
