T-Shirt Competition Finalists – It’s Time to Vote

Posted By Darren Rowse 9th of August 2005 ProBlogger Site News 0 Comments

I’m pleased to announce the five finalists for the ProBlogger T-Shirt competition.

You can see them all close up at the ProBlogger shop.

Apologies for the delay but with 60 submissions, a few hiccups with cafepress and with needing to get the entries all up to a printable quality it took a bit longer than I’d hoped for to get things this far.

I wan to extend a massive thank you to all participants. The quality of submissions was great and it was a difficult choice. Thanks also to my two other judges who helped narrow the field. We chose the following five for a variety of reasons including design elements, adaptability for printing, what we thought people would buy and how it fitted with the rest of ProBlogger. Of course this is just our opinion and there will be discussion about what we left out of the mix.

I will also add that a couple of entries withdrew due to lack of time to get their entries up to print quality. I may feature some of these later on as stickers or on mugs.

Vote for your favourite and show ProBlogger a little love in the process by buying your favourite in the ProBlogger shop.

The winner will simply be the design that sells the most number of items in the ProBlogger Shop. Each design has 26 options for purchase ranging from bags, to T-Shirts, to hats, to mugs. The winner will be declared 14 days from now at this time of the day. So vote for you winner today by making a purchase. In doing so you also help ProBlogger a little by both promoting it and sending a couple of dollars our way (it is literally only $2 or so per sale) Those of you who want to promote these T-shirts and make a little money off them can join Cafe Press’s affiliate program and link up to my shop if you wish.

So without further ado let me show you the five finalists and declare the voting for the final winner to be open. Each design below can be viewed in a larger size by clicking the image but it probably is worth looking at them on items in the Shop to get a better feel for them.

Finalist 1 – I’m a ProBlogger – submitted by Abe

Finalist 2 – Giving Words Worth – submitted by Chris

Finalist 3 – Blog Job – submitted by Ray (who doesn’t have a blog)

Finalist 4 – pro blogger – submitted by Retz (it has a back design too)

Finalist 5 – Helping Bloggers Earn Money – submitted by Stan

To see the finalists and options for buying head to the ProBlogger Shop at CafePress.com

    Hi Darren,
The designs and the whole concept of having Pro Blogger Tshirts is pretty neat. The T-Shirts really look Cool!!

  3. Ah … this means my design didn’t make. Oh well. I am going with BlogJob

  4. Sorry Kidino – appreciate your entry though – thanks for playing.

Number 4 and 1 looks great!
I’d choose number 4. Very simple and looks
very similar to the problogger.net’s layout

  6. oh well.. i don’t see my entry :-p … At first, I thought Retz’s number 4 is the best, since it most follows the design of this site .. (as did mine boohoo) ..

… but Chris’s “giving words worth” Number two definately looks best on the t-shirts in cafepress line-up. Kind of looks like that http://tag-cloud .. more in tune with blogging .. that’s my choice. If i were to buy.

wtg to all designs… except Number one .. good design .. but looks terrible on a T-shirt lol.

  7. Im sorry but blogjob sounds rude so no. I would not want to wear any of the above as something I would go out in, I would wear it if I worked for Darren like a work uniform.

For a fan of Problogger I would want someething cute/clever like a short fat web monster type character wearing a t-shirt thats says pro-blogger and a clever message underneath.

I can’t bring myself to vote for any of them to be honest good as they are in a corporate way.

  8. 1st 5
    2nd 1
    3rd 4th

  9. Allan , I can’t believe you would go out in a monster Tshirt, Those designs especially 5 are cool.

  10. Number 1 and Number 3

#1 is a nice design, but not on a t-shirt.

#3 is the most creative by far. The others are nice traditional designs but pretty common. BLOGJOB is the shirt that will catch peoples eye and remember, which is what you want. My husband will love it.

  13. No. 4 is my favorite.

  14. #4 catches my eye the most – easy to read, but all are very creative.

  15. I’m a fan of #4 and agree that #3 sounds too much like an offensive phrase.

  17. There’s something really cool about #2 on a trucker’s cap!

“#3 sounds too much like an offensive phrase.” – I assumed that was the joke.

    I’ll probably ‘vote’ #4.

  18. Are you just using cafepress for the voting, or are you going to keep the winning design there? I recommend once you get your winning design that you find a more profitable way of selling the shirts. Not sure what you’d make if you had to do your shipping from the island, and I don’t know how large your userbase is from there as opposed to overseas.

  20. I have no real loyalty to cafepress Blaine. It doesn’t really make much money but their shop functionality is pretty good. I’m not thinking it will actually make me any money – especially since I’m forking out $100 to the winner :-) Would need to sell 30-40 items to get that money back. In fact so far there’s no sales so it’ll be interesting to see if I recoup any of it. Oh well – I’ll enjoy the T-Shirts I buy myself!

  21. I vote for #1 – BlogJob. Controversial & catchy… exactly what you want to get people curious and click to your site.

  22. I like number one – nice and professional looking design, but they’re all great.

  23. Well, I like #4, and I proved it by buying a tote bag! Nice design. Actually, they are all pretty good.

  24. I like #4. An eye catching design.

  25. […] hey, two countrymen landing on the final five is enough reason for me to feel proud. View the final five entries. […]

  26. Great designs. Having looked at the shop it’s interesting how different designs work better on different items.

#1 – Great on the bags, hoodie and cap
#2 – Great on the small mug, tote bag, mouse mat
#3 – Great on the hoodie, cap, some of the shirts, and the large mug
#4 – Great on the mouse mat and all the shirts
#5 – Great on the tote bag, cap and mouse mat

    If I had the money, I reckon I’d buy a t-shirt with #4, a mug with #2, a messenger bag with #1, a cap with #3, and mouse mat with #5.

Given the comp was about a t-shirt design, I guess that means I’d vote #4.

  27. Well .. as I mentioned above .. it’s highly unlikely that I will be buying anything .. but, I do get a lot out of this blog and have added this page for you Darren!

  28. Totally a NEWBIE at this” Blogging thingy”and probably a little bit to old in the tougue BUUUUT!!! Like all the T shirt Designs and go for #1 for Dad, #3 for Son,#5 for Mum(thats me).Pretty similar straights as Chuck, but my $$$$s have gone on Web Page design stuff that should be up and rolling within UUUUMMM!! there abouts. but great to be out here and Learning ,Thanks to Darren and the like. Regards KAT

  29. I like #4 best; though #2 is easiest to read and perhaps more stylish, I personally think it’s too dark.
