31 Days to Building a Better Blog – Day 7

We’re a week into the 31 days to building a better blog project and I’m pleased to say that despite being a bit off color I’ve learnt a thing or two about blogging this month already. I’m looking forward to a continued group learning experience this coming week.

In the past 24 hours a number of people have submitted tips and posts for us to interact with. Here they are:

  • William Stewart writes a post giving Tips for a Successful Blog
  • The PC Doctor writes a blog tip titled – Make sure you have enough to say
  • Kevin pointed me to an article titled Exit Adsense which tells of one blogger’s decision to stop using Adsense
  • Syntagma writes a post about asking are there three blogospheres

Keep writing your blog tips and related articles and let me know of their URLS. Also stay tuned tomorrow for another series of posts that will hopefully help you (and me) build a better blog.

  1. Thank you for the 31 Days to Building a Better Blog. I stumbled upon you the way anyone stumbles on blogs (a series of links, trackbacks, etc….), but am very happy to have found this (excited about the next 24 days!!!).

I have read most of the advice that has been sent to you so far, and my own blog on business development, networking ,sales, marketing and PR will become much better starting today.

The best advice I have read is to stick with it and remember it takes time to get readers and get noticed. I am learning that, after 4 months, I am just starting to see results. I expect it will take at least 4 more until I am happy with the traffic.

  2. One week in and there’s certainly a buzz around the tertiary blogosphere. We’ll be expecting you to come up with something equally effective as an encore. Now there’s a challenge :-)

  3. OK Darren, you got me. I have officially Plucked your feed and am hooked on your blog.

Be gentle with me, as I’m a sensitive 6’2″ 245 lb kind of guy. Most of us ex-Airborne Infantry types are really closet romantics.

Seriously, this series and all the other 63 posts I’ve gone back and read in the last 2 1/2 hours are worthy of positive comments.

Keep stretching our minds and come visit us if you want your stretched a smidgen.

  4. I had AdSense once on a now defunct blog. I quit using it because the ads were always about what I was writing against, not what I was writing for. If a visitor clicked on an ad, money would go to the very sort of enterprise I detested and was ranting against.

  5. I do not fully agree to The PC Doctor’s article. Still I blog to learn I do not know enough until I write it. I do learn a lot by reading the news and posts of other users. It depends on your goal, if it is enough for you to be the only one who learns anything by reading (or writing) your blog. So I fully agree with the article of William Stewart (at least point 4).

unfortunately PC Doctor disabled comments. So I had to put it here.
