I thought it was just me. I have worked on different sites and could only manage a 2 or 3. Then I started a blog and on the first update it was a PR5, but doesn’t make anywhere near the money as my other sites with a lesser PR.

I put up a brand new site last night [http://www.homeequityloannews.com] and after an hour live and a total of 1 story…we had a PR of 10. To quote my partner “I thought it was going to be tougher than that!”.

I too have no PR. Thats no big deal though, Google never sent me any traffic any way. I bet there are lots of other who are slightly more concerned though.

I just checked my PR, and it’s 70 (yes, seventy) out of 10. Clearly something is out of whack.

I’m with Eoghann, I’ve always been big on giving the searchengines what they want to serve up to their users.

On the PR thing… I think there’s an update in the works. I could be wrong but this last ‘Burbon’ update was a biggie and there may be a PR shakedown going on as well. It’s interesting to see how everyoue is reacting ;-)

This just further confirms my belief that over the long term the best search engine traffic is achieved not by studying the alogrythms that search engines use for any particular week but instead by building the sort of pages that search engine developers actually want in their results.

Stick to the basics, with a clear subject, heading that matches the topic etc. and no matter how the search engines change you should ride it out okay.
